  1. I looked at this before.Hes had it out a few years or so.I sort of thought the same thing about it.
  2. I am with you on that one!
  3. ahhhhahahhhaaaahahhahaahah did that the other day
  4. What size or color?? None this is another one of those lures that I couldnt catch a cold with.Just not my thing I guess.I do own a few of them though since they look and sound sooo cool.
  5. When I lived in Ohio my pb was 5.5.That is a biggun in Ohio. Now I live in FLA and have caught several hundred over 5 lbs in which case 10 or better would be a real toad here and Ive only caught 3 of those!
  6. Every one forgets the drain plug sometimes -Or what about stringing up a spinning reel and rod, adding a lure, and only to find your line on the wrong side of the bail -Using a 2 piece rod and casting the upper half into the drink and as luck would have it a curious dink decides to bite and you have to wrestle him in with only the butt piece. -getting a lunker wearing a treble hook smile wrapped up in the anchor line. -dropping your cell phone in the drink -cleaning some fishing line out from the tm and dropping the prop drive pin in the water on a really windy day -getting snagged and pulling the anchor up and hearing your rod go kerplunk because you didnt go freeline first. -taking the time to tie a fancy knot and giving it the pull test only to have it come apart like gravy. -not retying your line when you know it needs it because your having too much fun beating up a school of dinks, then big momma decides to take a wack at your offering. -letting your worm lie in the water while nature calls and ending up with some wet pants or maybe shoes too. -purposely running your bait past an alligator because hes sitting right in the weeds and brush that you caught that lunker out of the other day, only to find out just how quick those guys are!
  7. That one does confuse me :-? BTW fellas, whats a MOOK?? Dont laugh!
  8. Right on brother.Took the words right outa my mouth
  9. Wow! Guilty of almost all of those I'll post more later when I have time but here are a few: -When you carry an extra rod and a few lures in your vehicle at all times so you can cast to any mud puddle you see even when it definatily looks like it doesnt have any fish or is 6 inches deep. -when you have the quantum rap song commercial as your ring tone. -when you use a hot tub, aquarium,or swimming pool to try out new lures. -when you occasionally call of sick to go fishing. -when your rod rock resembles the back wall at a billiards hall.
  10. Catching cats on spinnerbaits or ratltraps is a heck of a lot better than catching a @$#&%n snapping turtle
  11. I can tell you this.A whole lot of it just comes from experience and experimentation. Lakes are all different and so is the mood of the bass on a daily basis.Over time I have just made many mental notes on what works and when. Sometimes going against the grain and thinking outside the box can get ya a whole bunch of action too. That being said I for years have tried to read and absorb as much info from mags,tv shows, and online sites such as this. At this time I am not to sure how to break it down in a short easy way so I will be watching this post to see if any one else can.Theres a lot of pretty smart people on here. You all know who you are,and thanks for the info you provide.
  12. I LOVE the chugbug and this bait looks interesting.I dont own any lucky craft lures as I havent won the lottery yet but the power of the monkey is very strong with me and I may just have to break down and get this one.
  13. Cool Learn something new all the time.
  14. Sorry for jackin your topic skillet. Ive used spooks forever now but have never put two split rings on them. What is the purpose for this anyway??
  15. Actually they are 3/8 and track great in any speed. It also collapses when you smack cover, grass,or get bit.The spinner "arm" is actually a ball chain covered in the tubing. Used one today, didnt catch anything, but then again it wasnt a fast bait day.I was dead sticking trick worms BORING
  16. That,is a cool spook t-rig.I need one of those LOL. These 2 are just about my favs. Chrome with black head and back and black shore minnow.I use the black for night or very early morn or muddy water. I know clear bottom types are awesome as they disguise the true nature of the bait in clear water, but I dont fish much clear water.
  17. http://www.castaicsoftbait.com/cart/index.php?cPath=11 Anyone ever use these? A buddy of mine gave me 2 of them. They look kinda gimicky with the colored tubing and all.Nice thing is that you can put any kind of blades on them single or tandem in seconds.Any one have an opinion?
  18. I call this "ghost chasing" LOL.Any time you see a frenzy it is VERY annoying when you cant catch anything.Sometimes....it can be very critical to have the correct bait and or presentation. The bass seem dialed in to one thing and one thing only or only one type of movement.Any thing else they tend to ignore. One thing, you have to pay attention to what the depth or structure is underneath the area where you have been seeing this activity. The bass will try to hide on humps or drops and force the school upwards as they pass over. I could go on and on about what kind of baits are best, but for a little advice: I experienced this recently and couldnt get a single bite. After I came home I just googled "schooling bass" and found quite a few articles with info in relation to this.Hopefully you could read something that helps. I have found at times it helps to get within casting distance of the area and wait to see if it happens again. If there is structure there it will in fact attract the bass. Use lures and/or rod/reel setups for LONG casting.
  19. I always like seeing pictures or videos that contain these unexplained phenomena.
  20. The BPS and excalabur tungstens arent quite as bad.Tru tungsten is just way too expensive and is for those guys who think they have to pay top dollar for everthing.
  21. There is another advantage to Tungsten. The biggest difference is when using heavier weights especially 1/2 oz or more.It is a lot harder and smaller and does not get in the way when setting the hook.A giant lead or steel weight will have to pry a bass jaw wide open while a smaller tungsten will just slide right through. Or on a carolina rig smaller means less snags .It is also louder whenever it contacts any type of structure. You can feel everything too.Ever try tungsten on braid? If it touches a tiny piece of gravel you know about it.
  22. Now that would be a big bass bait, send some to the guys in cali who launchin those 2 lb swimbaits.
  23. Sounds cool, thanks for sharing this bit of info.Looks like I may get a new toy soon after I look at it.
  24. Yes it is pretty easy to walk due to the weight shifting inside of it.Good lure. The stock hooks on it are great.I wish they made a smaller size similar to a zara puppy. Although I own 2 of them I havent caught to much of anything on it.Ever since I started using the super spook jr thats about all I use. Skitter has similar action and sound to ss jr but a fatter body. Basically I prefer the spook, but if you ARE a beginner with these kind of lures I would say the Rapala is a good buy for the buck, as is most all the lures they produce.there may be better but its hard to go wrong with a rapala anything for the price. How is the overall action? I would say pretty good. The thing to remember about these kind of lures though is that the action is what you make of it.Never work it the same way for too long.Always change unless you get a bite.
