  1. I dont doodle.Have never been the artist type.Cant even draw a stick figure bass.
  2. Well I dont have to deal with hard water.I dont mind rain.Sooo cold fronts are my bane. The bass cry like little babies around here cuz the temp dropped 5 degrees.Whaaaaaaaaa!
  3. Its a very good bait IMO. One prob though:after ya catch a few it may go out of tune, like any spinner, and is hard to get all three blades to spin after, which is also the case with most any multi bladed bait. But ya,its a cool addition to a collection.
  4. Am I missing something here too :question
  5. Very Nice! What a delightful idea
  6. The gators are just for show, they aint nothin too worry about. They are everywhere though, and are pretty annoying when trying to topwater fish at times, especially a buzz frog ,THEY LOVE THEM. You cant go wrong with senkos and trick worms and the old faithful texas rig ribbon tail (YUM reccomended).Depending on depth or cover, you will need some shallow cranks, and of course spinnerbaits. For ponds 1/8 spinners work especially well.If the water is dark or tannic ,like alot of water around here, should go with bright cranks, bright spinners, and dark plastics black/blue,junebug,red shad.If slightly clear water is fished then watermelon/red and green pumpkinplastics,naturally.1/4 or less jigs are a bonus too in black and blue of course, and green pumpkin if clearer water. Yes,even in december it is quite warm here as compared to up north. But dont let that fool you into thinking the fishing will be easier.Just because there isnt a foot of snow on the ground doesnt mean the fish will be biting. In the Winter if we have continous cold fronts, night temps in the forties or less. These fish will turn off real quick.Blubird skies and high pressure are the bane of my existence around here. The lazy bass in FL sulk at the slightest change in weather,in my experience. So if cold is the case.I mean day temps in sixties,a very slooowww presentation will be required.Penetrate the heaviest cover available or practice dead sticking. If a front is coming soon though the bite prior can be extrordinary. I drive to a few ponds in the Fort Myers area and Port Charlotte.Theres just a ton of them around here.A Pond Prowlers Paradise.
  7. If you searched through the scroll bar from that youtube vid,did you see the one where the guys threw the chipmunk in the water?? Crazy stuff
  8. Question for any of you high end lure afficionados: Both these lures are part walker/popper.I love to use the similar storm chug bug, but its not too much of a walker.I dont own any LC or Megabass or any of that....yet.Really cosidering buying a LC Gunfish or Deps Radscale, cant afford both. Was wondering among those who have used either of these, or both, which one is better,or would you reccomend?
  9. That too is my idea of an awesome gift.Good luck with ur new stuff
  10. I agree. To even laugh about it is sick. Hmmm.Methinks that is the type of person that we should harness and use for bait for sharks. If he drowns first then Im sure cut bait would work too.Just my .01 worth.I realize swearing isnt allowed on this board so thats all I can say in a civil manner.
  11. Now I want some!(monkey says) Darn you guys,bunch of "enablers". :
  12. Great vids.Put a smile on my face
  13. Now that IMO would be entertaining to watch. Do bass actually eat mice or rats anyway? I always thought the plastic baits were just gimmicks and no different from a frog bait,in which case I wonder sometimes if the bass really think its a frog or mouse?Or are they just feeding on the action.
  14. I made a post earlier kind of looking down on tungsten. So what do I do? Monkey told me I need to pick up a few tru tungtens.I got 1/16,1/8 and some 1/2-3/4.I must say that I am impressed.I love them! I thought:well I have paid 5 and change for some cheap azz bullet weight screw ins I always use,and the quality is total s--- on those. The tungsten cost the same for the smaller ones.Even with a small 1/16 I can feel my bait hit a pebble 8 feet down. To the ones that said "once I tried it I never will go back",I am joining you now. Steel shares many of the same attributes and is cheaper.Problem is they are HUGE.
  15. wow! it seems there is quite a negative feedback on this thread. :
  16. I like Bassin', its sort of technique specific but, kinda like them all.Anything I can find to read about bass and fishing. You have to realize that there will only be a small percent of things in these reads that could actually apply to you or the type of water you are fishing in or even the kinds of days you are fishing. You just have to try to sort it out and absorb the info. All lakes are different,as is the bass in them, and we all know too well that what works one day or week wont work the next,or what works in one lake may not work in another even if conditions are similar. Its all about making money, like everything,so of course all they try to do is sell you on something that will be your new miracle.I just do my thing and use what I use,and try to keep the MONKEY off my back and not rush out and buy everything I read about.
  17. LOL (sorry) Dont know man,but I have been thinking about using some of these little lizards that ran around everywhere here in florida.
  18. Have done the same thing with the Ranger.Laughed hard when I read this. #5,I wont even ask,but that must really be a mess to deal with LMAO.
  19. ALL OF THE ABOVE,except one thing:Dont forget a SPLIT SHOT RIG with a #5 or 7 weight, finesse worm, trick worm,4 inch dinger(my fav),or smaller fluke. Have been killing them on this the days they wont hit a crank or spinner.I live in Florida, not to far off from you,and fish a ton of ponds just like what you described.A lot of "scum on the bottom". This could be the ticket.
  20. never heard of a death trap,i'll have to check em out.
  21. Like he said,a red hook on the front can make a bait look really cool.I wouldnt say red would be a recommendation, its a matter of preference.I have been using VMC Barbarian trebles, and they arent very expensive.Katsu round bends are great too. Size 4 and 6 are the most common for almost all off bass fishing type plugs, with some exceptions for smaller baits.Like RW said you may want to get you some spilt rings also. Its usually a good thing to replace those altogether. Most plugs will take a size 2 ring, and 3's are just fine too.Get you a pair a split ring pliers for sure if you dont have them.I have lots of little holes in my fingers from trying to replace without a plier, its a real pain.
  22. reminds me of one day i kept throwing a buzzer on a grassy bank and had a little black cat chasing it every time. The neighbor saw and just laughed, told me to at least practice catch and release. Wish I had a pool to use for doing those types of things though, any does is lucky.I have though been guilty of using an aquarium and my mothers hot tub to watch plastics and jigs, shakey heads, action under water though.(see thread:you may be a hardcore basser if..)
  23. junebug, junebug and umm let me think, how bout junebug?
  24. I STILL DO THIS ON OCCASION,THEN COMMON SENSE TOLD ME FINALLY TO POP OFF THE SPOOL,OPEN BAIL,AND PUT SPOOL BACK ON.HOW MANY YEARS UNTIL I FIGURED THAT OUT LOL.
