  1. I am looking for a mid level brand/model of rod. I would like one with a lifetime warranty of some sort. Off the top of my head the only brand and model I can think of is St. Croix Avid. By mid level I am looking for maximum price being $200.
  2. You should be using google chrome by now anyway.
  3. I thought you were going to start playing World of Warcraft.
  4. I found this quote on Fish Chris's website awhile back. "You can make excuses, or you can fish until you don't need any."
  5. Accidents happen, all it takes it one icy spot on our Pennsylvania roads. One bad accident and you be owing 100,000 plus. Shop around for insurance.
  6. Lake Coyler is in need of a dam repair to fix a leak, and has consistently been dropping in volume for quite awhile. Completely off topic but the water level is below the crack now (so I was told anyway) so it stopped losing water. I actually think it's fishing a lot better now that it's lost some water than it has in years! That's a good thing, because that lake is FULL of cookie cutters.
  7. Who did you contact from Penn State? I may be able to get a response quicker from some of the profs. PM me with who you tried to contact and I will attempt to expedite a response. I have fished at black mo, and I understand your concern. One way to think of it is the problems will be dealt with now and fixed so it can return to the prosperous lake it is currently. Lake Coyler is in need of a dam repair to fix a leak, and has consistently been dropping in volume for quite awhile. Be happy they are fixing the problems and not throwing it aside. Lake water drops are for many reasons in different areas of the country. It could be to provide spawning habitat, take spawning habitat away, kill vegetation, water supply, prevent ice destruction, and etc.. Drawing a lake down like Black Mo is never a sure thing, and there could be some related fish mortality as well as a vegetation die off. In my opinion the fixing of the dam and ramps is needed and beneficial, and with time the vegetation and the fish will bounce back.
  8. What does church have to do with fishing? Our local sponsorship expert tommy will be with you shortly. He will get you on track to get a jersey with sponsors.
  9. They are surgically sharpened. They just come with a hefty tag, buy a pack and make your own decisions.
  10. I am not sure he did it because smaller fish would have equaled more weight or morals, but either way it is respectable. He is an awesome fisherman despite other actions.
  11. He is also probably one of the most knowledgeable in dealing with tidal water out of ALL the pro's. I would want to go fishing with Charlie Moore
  12. I hope you can sunburnt walking to and from the shelter. 8-)
  13. Although I will unfortunately not be joining in, due to distance and other commitments I want to chime in. I suggest NOT going to Raystown this time of year. Raystown is an extremely tough lake to fish in the summer. Between all the shad and the grass you may all have your work cut out for you.
  14. I broke two cumaras as well. I have a 7'2 mf that has held up. I will not buy another one.
  15. $$$ is my guess if they did indeed wait.
  16. What makes you think it was only the one guy on the blackberry? There may have been a few that didn't think you were a good fit for the job for whatever reason. The other people may have just been respectful, and responsive unlike the guy on the blackberry. I am not trying to start a fight, just something to think of. If you just think the one guy didn't like you then you might not critique your interview or resume' properly.
  17. I ran into this problem at the earliest stage.. right out of college. I am graduating with a BS in Fisheries Science. In the fisheries science field experience is EVERYTHING, especially if you don't have a higher degree. I knew that I had to be willing to move, and that I needed to apply to as many jobs as possible. I applied to 25 jobs overall and ended up getting two job offers. I also only looked into temp jobs for now to see what direction I want to go in the future. I feel like I am the kind of person that will be better in life then in school. I know how to make contacts, and I know how to use them. Knowing how to make contacts seems to be an invaluable life skill. What I described seems to be working for my field, and you may just need to figure out the system for yours. Nothing worth having comes easy in life, hard work, and perseverance will pay off.
  18. Nice fish man! Slot limits are applied as a specific management technique for the lake. They want you to take that size fish for one reason or another. Harvest should probably be done more then it is currently. More people now then ever practice catch and release. We will see how it effects the fisheries in the future
  19. City Limits FLW Bassmaster elites In fisherman WFN I disslike Roland, hank, bill, and jimmy. I don't learn much from them fishing stocked ponds.
  20. I stand by what I said months ago... IKE is the most consistent fisherman in the elites.
  21. cool :
  22. You should try some more main and secondary points. I see a some nice looking areas that you didn't fish, but were in sight of. Also as mentioned before fish some of those deeper banks, if you find a bank with some wood or rocks on the drop spend some extra time on it. Fish rock mid and late day, sometimes this time of year when the rock heats up the fishing heats up.
  23. Will I get rocks thrown at me if I use a spinning outfit?
  24. He's from PA, he won't notice a difference. Very true, but for the last 5 years I have lived in State College.
  25. When are you leaving? Gotta do some fishing and buying before you take off... I start work in June, but my whole month of May is ridiculous. I will be in Maine from May 8th to May 14th for survival class, graduate on May 15th, Texas collegiate tournament May 20th to May 28th then work in Wyoming. Just call or text me Wayne. I guess surviving the cougar attack depends on the species of cougar. I am talking about the species thato will bite my face off.
