x2. They have a Shimano Spirex/Bionic Blade combo for 100$ or a Pflueger President/Extreme Xps combo for 120$. You can buy a new reel and lighter line and take the time to change it out or you could spend about the same amount of money and get a spinning rod/reel combo that way you have it there and wont have to change anything. Just tie on your bait and cast it out. I think you would do better fishing light/weightless baits on a spinning rig because its easier to cast. Good luck.

I have never used any of those reels but, i have used the Cardinal 503 which is a step up from the 300's. I liked it alot and it is on sale for 54.99$ right now on BPS.com.A few things i like alot about it is the bail is very thick and its smooth. thats an understatement. Negative degree weather, huge waves crashing down on you, large metal objects swinging around your head and very strong winds not to mention the long hours and physical exhaustion. You wouldn't catch me out there.

Its been about 9 months i believe, i remember i was throwin cranks and got a bite but had no clue until it jumped out of the water. I reeled it in and released it and then casted out again and boom another bite, once again i had no clue i had it until it jumped and splashed a little bit. I remember thinking wow this is easy! Now months and months later without a fish i realize it isnt as easy as i once thought. Whether im catching or not i still love everything about bass fishing, being out in nature on the lake where its quiet and peaceful, theres nothing like it.

My stepbrother took all the towels and my clothes out of the bathroom while i was in the shower and left the door wide open while we had some ladies over and i had no clue the door was open and i step out of the shower and feel a cool breeze and i turn around and there the door is wide open with everyone in the living room, i felt real cool 8-). He also put tacks on either on the floor outside of my other brothers bedroom or outside the shower stall and you can guess what happened then. Oh and (this is a classic, any1 can do it) he wrapped a rubber band around the handle on the hose that comes out from the kitchen sink and pointed it straight ahead and when my mom came home and rinsed out her coffee cup it sprayed her right in the face, i still use that one today ;D. He jokes around aaaalot.

I have been trying different soft plastic brands like yum and zoom just trying to see if i like one more then the other before i just stick to one brand. Are you guys loyal to one brand only or do you buy various plastics from various brands? Any suggestions on some others worth trying?

I often wonder the same thing. I love everything about bass fishing, the scenery, the boats, the rods and reels, the lures and everything else it has to offer, i love it all.

Im most comfortable and confident in T rigged plastics.
