ive been usin a spinning reel combo for forever even though the times i fished were few and far between, but now that i am really into bassfishin im tryin to learn all the knowledge i can and put it to use quickly. and being the impatient person that i am i went out and bought an abu garcia revo s baitcaster!! so we'l see how that goes lol :-/ also would a 7' allstar rod be a good choice to go with my baitcast?

im trying to set the drag on my reel, do i have to have a spring scale in order to get it precise?

everytime i catch one on a rat-l-trap its when im reelin back in to change lures. it happens everytime and cbfishalot i agree as well, i caught a tiny bass on a 1/2oz RAT-L-TRAP last weekend.

im still unclear on alot. all the different rods for different baits and what to set your reel to and all that. does heavier bait call for heavier rods? or longer rods? and how do i know what to set my reel to depending on what bait im using? I may be overthinking this, let me know plz

i was the same way as kajun, i didnt think the rod mattered at all but in the past weeks i have realized it does, i just got a new abu garcia revo s reel and i was wondering what would be a good all around rod to go with it, any suggestions would be helpfull

i think i may be technically challenged like road warrior, im afraid if i take it apart i wont be able to get it back together lol

there buildin one at the mall but its not quite done yet

ive been lookin at some falcons, theyre a little out of my price range but you get what you pay for so it would be worth it i suppose

i had a shimano spirex spinning reel and heard alot of talk about these baitcast reels so i went ahead and got me an abu garcia 2 days ago. due to work i havent hit the lake yet so i havent got to try it out but from what ive read yesterday and today it looks pretty intimidating. this weekend im headin out to the ol' fishin spot, i have a feeling im gonna need to bring my other rod n reel

yea same here, i hear bassfishin in cold weather isnt bad but i was told u have to have alot more patience than you do in the warmer months but it pays off i hear
