  2. You are the last person on the forum i would've guessed as a smoker. Frog keep on keepin on. All this talk is makin my mouth water, i will go smoke one for you right now buddy. Good luck
  3. About 2 weeks ago it was at 2.79$ a gallon and now its at 3.05$.
  4. You picked an EXCELLENT reel to start out with. That is the EXACT combo i started baitcasting with and i still use it. Good luck and practice practice practice.
  5. 2-3$?!?! I wish, i pay 5.25$. I tried to quit and it lasted about 2 days and i was really temperamental and everything was makin me angry and i couldnt take it anymore. I keep tellin myself i will quit eventually i will quit but i need to do it instead of talkin about it. It doesnt help that im a huge procrastinator.GOOD LUCK FROGTOG! I really hope you kick the habit.
  6. Im not familiar with the Curado but i can suggest a REVO made by ABU GARCIA. Do i have to get jumped in or can i just join the posse?
  7. What in your opinion is the ideal crankbait setup. Rod, reel, and line.
  8. LOL, make sure you reply and tell us the reaction.
  9. After the 57th plug for the website in that d**n commercial i almost head butted the tv. Jesus that was incredibly annoying.
  10. Jake P replied to Catt's topic in Everything Else
Exactly the same thing. Im speechless......God bless the friends and family, my prayers are with them all.
  11. I know you said 80$ but if you could save 20$ more you could get an Abu Revo S. I think Shimano still has a rebate on their Citica that you could get for 90$. If you dont want to spend more than 80$ then heres something to look at. A few weeks ago some guys were talking about how good the Abu Garcia Promax was and its priced at 75$. Heres a link to the page. Good luck. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1200375275
  12. Basspro has a Shimano Citica and Extreme XPS rod combo for 169.98$ with a rebate which would put you right at 150$. I have never owned a Citica but i have heard from tons of people that they are awesome reels. The Extreme XPS rod i do own and it was part of my first baitcast combo and i can say its not a bad rod at all. I think this would be your best bet for a baitcast setup. Good luck with whatever you choose.
  13. Same here, I like the re enactments. Awesome show.
  14. How long did it take you?
  15. il just say x3 on the Revo S comments, no complaints what so ever.
  16. They look pretty good, is this your first time? I love the split grips on spinning rods, not so much on baitcast though.
  17. Theres nothing challenging about that. You hover your mouse over "other" on the far right and then click bassmaster :-X.
  18. Me and my family went out to celebrate two of my brothers birthdays today and went to Joes Crabshack for dinner. I barely made it home in time for the classic and ran inside and turned on the tv and everyone sat down and actually watched it with me, none of them fish except my stepdad and he hasnt been fishing in probably 20 years. About an hour into it everyone starts telling me they want to go fishing with me next time i go and then my stepdad and mom ask to see my reels. So i bring out all my Abu's and show them and they're messing with them and trying to figure out how to work them and my stepdad says, "how much did you pay for these"? So i told him from 65-160$ and my mom looked at me like i was crazy and said back in the day we never had anything fancy like this. Then my stepdad says "i can outfish you with a 30$ Zebco, thats all ive ever used. Why would anyone pay 160$ for a reel when you can use a Zebco spincast that works just the same". After i was done laughing i tried explaining to him the differences and he would just not listen. So now my mom thinks im crazy for spending that much on reels and my stepdad thinks he can outfish me with a Zebco. I told him here soon when i get my own boat we can go out and buy him his zebco that he wants and have ourselves a little tourny, him and my mom against my buddy Mike and I. I just thought it was cool that my family watched it with me and now are wanting to learn about bass fishing. I cant wait to take them out with me and show them a thing or two.
  19. Awesome awesome awesome!
  20. AHHHHH!!!!!!! I want to be there so bad!! You guys are so so lucky. Do all of us a favor that are at home and keep the pics coming. Have fun guys!
  21. x2 I haven't used it, but I think it will be my next rod. I have been looking at this rod for atleast 3-4 weeks but havent bought it yet. I want the 6'10 M/F spinning rod but im still thinking about saving an extra 40 and buying the Fenwick HMG. Does Cabelas carry these in the store? I would like to compare them both at the same time but i remember hearing someone say they dont carry them in stores only online. I would buy 100 worth of tackle Cliff, unless i needed the rod badly, then i would buy the rod.
  22. I didnt see anything rod and reel wise that caught my eye. But i did see some Terminator t-2 spinnerbaits on sale for 5 for 10$. I have never caught a fish on a spinnerbait and dont have but 1 or 2 of them. This is a good chance to upgrade my arsenal. Maybe if i have more i will try them more. Oh yea and they have some storage boxes 5 for 10$. I think im gonna start organizing my tackle a little better and start using storage boxes.
  23. Im lookin at the spring fishing classic paper that i just got today and i think your thinking of the Energy PT. The Tour Edition is regularly 239.95$ and with the rebate its 189.95$. The Energy PT is 189.95$ and with the rebate is 139.95$. I would go with the Abu .
