Sad day
Im feeling the Sunday night blues. Heres my story. So I started out the morning by throwing a White Chatter bait at the bank before loading up the boat to head out. After a few casts with my new bait, I land a nice 2lb Bass. So from there we head out on the boat into some perfect weather. Air temp 65 degrees, water temp 72 degrees with a light breeze. After fishing for about an hour with no luck, the wind really starts to pick up. With the wind picking up and the fishing really starting to stink, I was just about to call it quits. When we come across a spot that looks pefect on the Fishfinder. So I postion the boat and start working the area. Three casts Later BAM I set the hook into something that just doesnt budge. I work the fish for maybe 5 minutes before getting it to surface. The bass semi surfaces and does an explosive head shake, showing me what I had on the other end of my line. She makes another run then seems to give up. I work the fish to within netting range and she comes to life, she explodes out of the water almost completly and throws the bait right in my face. :'( :'( > I just about threw my rod and tackle box out of the boat. I know its stupid to try and guess the weight of a fish you dont even land, But god the fish must have been at least double the largest fish I have ever caught. The day ended with one more small bass, and a lot of regrets. Anyway thats my rant for the Week. Theres always next time.

South Florida Spawn
Blue Gills usually spawn in the summer, and yes the bass start feeding in the fall, unless its a south Florida targeted article I throw out most of the literature on bass behavior when it comes to down here, most of its written based on the rest of the country. And by South Florida I consider from Kissimmee south. Thats one thing i have noticed. Every Bass Fishing magazine I read, seems like the information doesnt really match up with South Florida Patterns. The Bass behave soo differently because we dont have Winter down here, so alot of the info is useless.

South Florida Spawn
I fished this past Sunday after a front had pushed through. The air temps were in th low 50's, but the water temps were still in the upper 70's. Now most South Florida anglers know that the coldest it really gets here during winter is ussually 45 - 50 degrees. So my question is when do we start scoping the shallows for staging bass getting ready to spawn. Also when can we expect the bass to be actually spawning.

Future move from Oregon
Question's to ponder for the next few years. -What field of work are you in, and how easily can you find work in the given area you plan to move too. -Housing, what you can afford for the general area you plan to relocate too. -What type of Fishing, Primarily Large Mouth? Small Mouth and Large Mouth? Good thing is you got sometime to do your research.
