  1. Try throwing a 4' wacky rigged Senko, in dark colors. Fish it very slow.
  2. Wondering if there were any plans for another South Florida Get together?
  3. Makes sense, all the lakes i fish have everything you just described. Especially water turkeys, and also pelicans.
  4. You could start by getting rid of gators and water turkeys. Funny, probably be alot easier to just move to California.
  5. A local private lake i fish has a few wacky fisherman that will keep every thing that bites there line. This Chinese guy was out fishing the other day, he caught a small panfish, turtle, 3 small bass, and a bunch of tadpoles. He kept everything, i asked him what his intentions were and he said "BIG DINNER PARTY"
  6. Oh believe me we got plenty of both, ever been to South Beach.. ;D
  7. Ok well after joining this site i have learned a ton of new information. But the thing that has struck me the most is the numbers of REALLY LARGE bass being caught in California. Now living in Florida where the Florida Strain of large mouth Bass Originated, one would think there would be large numbers of GIANT bass here as well. But from what i have seen on here and locally thats not the case. What is it about LM Bass in California? Also Theoreticly what could be done here in Florida to create such large numbers of HUGE Bass?
  8. I think the fish probably weighs a little over 6lbs. I highly doubt it weighs less than 5.5lbs
  9. 10 foot gator?? I have fished this lake for over 2 years and have only seen 2 gators. one is around 3-4 feet long. The other is close to 5 feet long. Believe me the gator/s did not eat all the larger fish. Many large fish have been pulled from this lake.
  10. Where in Wellington is that spot? That doesnt look familiar at all.
  11. You finally found out how to post. Now do some research on how to catch some big bass.
  12. Well i finally went out and got a nice 1232 Tracker jon boat, with a 46'lb Minn Kota trolling motor. Got to do a little fishing today with a friend and caught a few fish in the 1-2 pound range. Things will only get better once i learn how to navigate and fish in sync while being blasted with 15 mile an hour winds.
  13. "*Why do these guys dress like nascar? " One word MONEY...
  14. So you never got to fish lake Wellington??
  15. ok thanks, you may have made up my mind.
  16. Well being that we weigh pretty much the same. Where you able to stand up and fish out of the boat no problem?
  17. I couldnt agree more, excellent post. Funny you point out the point about the partner being a distraction, my largest bass have all been caught on days fishing alone.
  18. http://www.trackerboats.com/boat/?boat=2861 This is the boat i have been considering. after months of check craigslist and not finding anything worthwhile, i figure i mine as well purchase a new boat and be done. here is a small list of questions 1. What is the maximum weight most of you put into a 12 by 32 jon safely? 2. Being a big guy 6'3 240, would i be able to stand up and fish in the boat alone, without having to worry about going for a swim? 3. I will be mostly using the boat to fish private community lakes and canals. But say i want to take it out every once in a while to a larger lake that allows gas powered boats, do i have to worry about getting fliped over everytime one flies by?
  19. Congrats, on the new truck and boat. Problem now is those 55 days are gonna feel like an eternity!
  20. Your friend should take a look at this link http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_204_999034014_100000000_100010000_100-10-10 These protectors work well when bank fishing and you wanna throw a few lures in your pocket.
  21. Thanks, Also both pictures are of the same bass
  22. Well i hit the lake a little late today sun had already set and the skeeters were out in full swarm eating me alive. But i was able to pull 3 nice bass in a matter of 20 minutes. I have pictures and im wondering if you guys could let me know from the picture what you would estimate this bass would weigh. I left my scale at home and was not able to weigh her. Whatever the weight it was one hell of a fight for a bass of this size.
  23. lol.. Thats a great shot, fishing in style. Im assuming you rushed to the lake right after work?

I've never heard of a 15" fish weighing 6.3 lbs. Looks like 14" and 15" to me. And going by this photo from Gator Grip's website: The 25" Golden Rule is graduated in 1/4" increments. The Golden Rule pictured is graduated in 1" increments.
