Im confused so is the ruler 22.5 inches or 25 inches like Bob kav pointed out? And why does the end of the ruler read 15?
  2. Thats a tricky question. But i would have to say sport. When i think Hobby, i think of collecting antiques, gardening, flying a kite, painting, etc. Fishing would be considered more of a sport because many people participate in the activity competively. Now try and imagine competive gardening, antique collecting or painting..
  3. In that photo the man caught both bass on one lure. So what i meant was they are definetly not talking over, But they are very aggresive and for sure competing for food. From the story it seems the Peacock tried to steal the lure straight out of the LMB's mouth.
  4. Maybe not taking over, but they are definetly making some impact.. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1204407984

The fish is definetly 14' we can tell that from the ruler. That fish is soo chunky though, what do you guys estimate a 14' fish that is that fat weigh?? Very nice catch either way. P.S next time leave the ruler out of the photo
  6. I made a post about this a month ago and no one ever replied. So im assuming no one on this forum has much if any experience with them. So i would avoid these reels until they get a little more exposure and people put them to the test. Or you can be the Guinea Pig ;D
  7. The water is crystal clear, about 4 to 5 feet deep. I knew that comment about the temp. wwould get you northerners all riled up.
  8. Well i would not throw dead fish back into the water, that would be an easy meal for the gators. I would probably just toss them into an ant pile.
  9. I have some more photos at home that show me holding the bass, that may give you a better comparison of the actuall size of the bass.
  10. The scale may be off but the fish measured a little over 18inches. this is the scale i used http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_13327_100011004_100000000_100011000_100-11-4 i have used it to weigh household items (gallon of water) and it was dead on.
  11. Ill just start killing some of the smaller fish. Thanks for the tips.
  12. I live on a large private lake that was stocked 10 years ago with LMB and sunfish. Now the lake is packed with a ton of small to average size bass and a ton of small sunfish. The largest bass caught in the lake being 6.5lbs. Now im wondering if the introduction of larger prey species would help increase the size of the Bass. Maybe add in some Bluegill, Tilapia, golden shiners. Im going to talk to the community manger about contacting a local fish mangament company to stock the lake. I wouldnt try stocking the lake on my own. Do you think the introduction of these fish will make a difference or should some of the smaller bass just be removed?
  13. Well Here in South Florida we just had a FRIGID cold front just pass through last night. The temperatures dropped to a freezing 41 degrees.I went out fishing today not expecting much. Well after about 2 hours of fishing and 13 LMB later all in the 1 - 2 lb range, i landed this 4lb beauty. Not a bad night...
  14. One thing you skinny guys can do to try and gain weight is to eat LESS OFTEN. Eating lots of food all day long keeps your metabolism UP. Eat Large meals 3 times a day with no snacks in between. Also a good way to gain weight is to eat a TON of carbohydrates.
