I will use this thread to list and report Quality Bass Fishing locations. 1. Western Wellington Area canals 2/10/08, West end of Aero Club. A few small size LM Bass in the AM hours. 2.Lake Victoria behind Wellington Mall (Private Community) fish often. Small golf community lake, behind Wellington Library http://www.yellowbook.com/search/?what=WELLINGTON+LIBRARY&who=&where=33414 i have caught a few nice size LMB. normally in the early AM hours. 4. Canal Behind Ultima Fitness in Wellington. Leads into Lake Wellington. Fished for 25 minutes 2/24/08 and caught a few nice fish from 2 to 3 lbs. Ill update more later, if anyone else has some hot spots they are willing to let out, feel free to respond.

I see the are back pumping water from the c-51 canal back out to the Lake. I live about 25 minutes east of the Lake and last time i was out there it doesnt look like the lakes water level is rising. I cant understand how we get so much rain on the East part of the county, but to our west its so dry. What we need is for a couple tropical storms or depressions to roll through this season and dump a couple feet over the lake.

Not to sound dumb, but what harm could be caused by the introduction of a leaf into a lake? Dont leaves blow into lakes from surrounding trees all the time?

This is a good question, something i always wondered but never got around to asking. Now i know i need to invest in some quality shades.

Well i made the purchase yesterday at BPS and im very happy. I got the St. Croix Avid AVS70MHF paired with PFLUEGER Supreme 8040MGX. After blowing more money than id wish to disclose on a ton of baits and lines. I went out to Holiday Park afterwards to try the new gear out. I have been using outdated 2 peice fiberglass rods before this, with outdated spinning reels. So to put it into perspective i feel like i just hopped out of Ford Focus and into a Mercedes Benz S class. Rod action is great, you can feel everything. My casting distance has nearly doubled as well. Even though i only caught a few dinks, still had fun with the new setup. Thanks for the Input everyone.

anyone ever try the U.S Reel super caster 230xl or 240sx? The one that promotes the wider spool for further casting.

Yea alot of the lakes i fish have very few bushes or trees. So anything that can give me some added casting distance would help.

Im looking for a Rod and Spinning Reel for around $200- $350 price range. I primarily fish t-rigged soft plastics and do alot of bank fishing. No ultra light gear, got plenty of that. What do you guys think?

Avid, next time you guys are out there in the middle of a feeding frenzy try rigging up a cluster rig. I read about it in this months issue of Bassin. Pretty much consists of a 3 way swivel and 2 lines run about 3 feet with either a jig or whatever is biting. Good for catching 2 bass at a time.

I dont think the first one was 2.5lbs, felt more like 1 - 1.5lbs

Well with the wind blowing and the temps in the low 60's. Fishing was very slow caught 5 in 3 hours mostly dinks. No scale on me, so im not sure what they weighed. First attempt at posting pictures

Question, if the community built this pond with the development and never intended it to be fished, they wouldnt have stocked it. Right? So would it be worth fishing? I know in my community they have 3 lakes and only stocked the one main lake. The 2 smaller lakes were never stocked and 10 years later theres nothing in those lakes but ducks.

Looks like you guys had fun. Wish i could have gone, but just too much going on. Weather was bad earlier in the day, so i was wondering if the whole thing even went down.

I have a family Christmas party in the afternoon, my wife just sprung on me a few days ago. So ill try and sneak out early and check it out. The meet is at 11:00am?? Is it gonna be eating and drinking and hanging out or pretty much straight fishing and grab something to eat between casts?

We just had a cold front move through South Florida, temps are in the high 50's low 60's and people are complaining that its freezing outside and wearing sweaters and heavy jackets. Thats the funny thing about Florida, we dont realize how good we have it because this is what we are used too.

Ill send you an email next weekend i have off. I have been fishing lake wellington since 88' i know a few hot spots.
