  1. That area looks familiar, where was she fishing?
  2. Awesome fish!! That is one fat lady. What is the state record?
  3. Lol if your honest with yourself I'm sure there is more to this story than we all know. Getting a dog to keep her occupied? Come on man. There is more to life than fishing. IMO having a partner in my life like my wife that doesn't have EVERYTHING in common with me is a good thing. We can share in some things that we love and than we have our totally opposite hobbies that we can chill out on our own (like RW was basically saying lol). My point is that your asking a bunch of guys on a fishing site that LOVE to fish. Most of these responses are laughable and "manly" ;D. Your not married now so if you don't think that you can compromise yourself than maybe it is best to cut ties. But if you think a marriage is going to be all "I'm the man and I rule the roost" and expect the relationship to be happy than your mistaken IMO. Relationships are about communication and compromise. I had to learn the hard way....believe me. She was doing the talking but I wasn't doing the listening. Thankfully I woke up and she took me back after a stupid stupid stupid mistake. My wife and I are now very very happy. This is the best advice yet..
  4. only if its not clamped down correctly. But usually its really smooth in 5th
  5. If it helps at all i have a 12' Jon with a 46 minn Kota. Speeds 1-2 dont really move the boat, mainly used for keeping it in postion against the current or in the wind. Speed 3-4 good for a very slow quiet creep around the lake. Speed 5 is the only speed that really moves the boat with any kind of haste. But we are talking 3- 5 miles per hour max. So for a 14' Jon i would say your scenario sounds about on par.
  6. This is a tough question because both scenarios have there pros and cons. But i will say when im serious about catching fish i fish alone. When i want to have a good time and dont care how many fish i catch, ill fish with a buddy.
  7. I have seen huge bass inhale 9 - 12 inch long Iguanas.
  8. Im sure others will chime in soon with a more accurate estimate.
  9. I would say that fish looks to be between 4 and 5 pounds. Im no expert, i could be way off.
  10. My biggest question is WHY? what would be the point of digging up human remains to smoke pot, when you can make a bong at home or buy one legally. :-?
  11. Welcome, you have stumbled upon one of the best Resource sites on the NET. I have been on for less than a year and have learned sooo much my head hurts!!!
  12. So will this be stickied at the top? And do we post pictures of our sunday biggest catch in this thread or just create our own thread?
  13. Awesome, keep up the great work! Any guide that could put an inexperienced fishermen on fish like that is worth his weight in gold.

I would say a safe number to call your new PB would be 5lbs. almost forgot, CONGRATS on the new PB
  15. I have thought about tubing before, but i am starting to think it wouldnt be the smartest of things to do in South Florida. I would imagine it would be really stress free and relaxing to do up north where you dont need to worry about, gators and crocs.

Was that amazing bag limit of fish caught during a tournament? Or do you Cali guys catch a bunch of monsters and keep them in your live well till you get a bunch, then take some pictures.
  17. I know how you feel. I fished live shiners once last year, ended up gut hooking a nice sized bass. Released it and it went belly up right away. I was feeling horrible watching this fish float away, when out of no where a hawk swoops down, grabs the bass and flys away. I felt a little better knowing the fish wasnt wasted. I decided i would never fish live bait again after that. Anyway you did what you could and made an attempt.
  18. Were you Carp fishing on Saturday?? I thought i saw a guy on that canal, that was fishing from a dock with a canopy. Im always down for a mini tournament. My 2 days off are Saturday afternoons, and sunday all day.
  19. Well this was an interesting weekend on the lake. Went out Saturday with my brother for a few hours of fishing. I nailed around 10 nice size bass all 2-3 pounds. With a few nice size bass lost. I was fishing ultrlight gear and 4inch senkos. My brother fishes the whole day only catching a couple smaller bass. Then as the sun goes down and we are fishing with very little light, he slams into a huge bass 7-9lb range. He fights it up to the boat and we just cant get it into the boat (NO NET) after a few missed attempts it breaks the line and takes off. Needless to say we will have a net next weekend for another shot.
  20. no weed beds, no dams, there is patches of heavy reeds along the bank in some areas.

How is your day off going? Have you been fishing today? why dont you go introduce your self on the general discussion forum.
  22. He had a situation with the mods and quit coming on the site.
  23. How about in a lake that is shaped like a bowl with no structure at all? The lake i fish is about 25 acres, 18 - 20 feet deep at its deepest points. But when i surveyed the lake with the depth finder. i found the lake to be almost perfectly contoured to the shape of a bowl and ZERO structure. So where would the Big girls be hanging out here?
  24. He stated the fish was aprox. 26' long. From the size of the fishes head and mouth i just cant see how that fish is less than 6 pounds?? What do you see that i dont? Im not being rude, just wondering how you guys gauge a fishes weight.
  25. Just seems like when i first signed up i used to see a ton of South Florida guys posting almost all the time. Now Avid is gone i know that. I figured this time of year you guys would be posting up a ton of pictures of BIG Bass!
