THE PENNANTS ARE "ALMOST" IN VIEW AND THE TRASH IS FLYING- 2008
4 games is a LOT of ground to make up in a few weeks. True, but remember how the Brew Crew and Muddy's Mets faltered down the stretch last season? Both teams gave up large leads.

Poppers on spinning or baitcasting?
What's your budget? If you don't mind shelling out the dough, give the Shimano Core a look. It's super light, has a good IPT rate, and your wrists will thank you at the end of the day. The black Core would look pretty sweet on the 6'3" M Zillion rod. I plan on buying that exact rod for my topwater duties. I am currently using a 6'6" rod, and though it's not bad I definitely want something a bit shorter.

Cavitron Buzzbaits giveaways have been shipped.
Received mine as well, many thanks. I will no doubt pass the word along to my fishin' buddies about your excellent products and superior service. Thanks again. -Shaun

g loomis question
Go for it. The sensitivity of these rods is amazing, and knowing that you are using such a responsive and sensitive rod will do wonders for your confidence as well. The fifty dollar Xpeditor service is enough to seal the deal.

Yea, I heard enough of that the one time I unfortunately clicked on the link. On an unrelated note, six in a row for the chubbies.

I must offer a beerpology...
Must have been...has the same amount of flavor as Bud Light. I guess if you ran out of water and needed to: make jello; fill water balloons; wash the bugs off your windshield; water your tomatoes; put out a campfire; mix a small batch of concrete for brushpiles; or shave, Bud Light would do.

You hit it right on the head: our sluggers (couch cough Prince) had no patience at the plate this series. Trailing late in game two, Braun walked on five pitches. So what does Prince do? Only hit the first pitch into a DP. Hopefully we'll get another chance come October, 'cause we really looked like crap this series.

Sweepola is correct. The first two were gift-wrapped, today's game was an ol' fashioned a$* whuppin'. The supposed thin Mets pitching looked very good.

Great song. Last tune for me was "Try a Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding.

I repeat: DOO DAH DOO DAH I was waiting for that. More slop on the field, and another L for the Crew...go figure. The Mets now lead the season series 3-2. Nice catch by Wright to end the ninth.

Too bad Sheets went down. I would have loved to see him go toe-to-toe with Santana. Frickin' Gag-me. How many more games is going to cost the Crew?

Daiwa TD-Z
Did you upgrade? Suggestions? Not yet, it's on my short list. I have a few holes to fill in my arsenal. If you want to do the job yourself, check out www.smoothdrag.com. As far as the carbontex drag upgrade, Daiwa baitcaster set #1 should do the trick. If you are not comfortable doing the upgrade, shoot forum member The Reel Mechanic a pm.

I enjoy watching his show because he's usually casting a DC Calcutta, Calais, or a stock Calais. Cool Pic.

Daiwa TD-Z
I have a 103ML and absolutely love it. Everyone has pretty much covered all the pros to the TD-Z. The only con I can think of is I am not 100% impressed with the stock drag. Other than that it's a sweetheart. The TD-Z has soft plastics written all over it. I have mine on a BCR852 GLX, and it's a match made in heaven. The 103ML has an IPT of 24; this really helps me slow down and not overwork my rig, as I use the 852 for a lot of finesse work.
