Medium Extra Fast Casting rod uses?
I've been using a St. Croix EC68MXF for 1/4 finesse jigs, T-rigged tubes, and weightless 4" Senkos.

THE PENNANTS ARE "ALMOST" IN VIEW AND THE TRASH IS FLYING- 2008
Looks like the Crew inked Ken Macha to a two year deal today. I wonder if Mike Maddux will stay, or go to Texas as rumored?

Holy inexpensive Lucky Craft's
I'm about an hour drive from that Cabela's, but there's a good chance I'll be driving past it on my way to our cottage on the weekend of Nov seventh. Unfortunately I am not set-up to accept paypal.

Holy inexpensive Lucky Craft's
For the last week and a half our local Cabela's, Richfield WI, has had an unadvertised sale on LC's. I'm talking a big sale here. I bought several G-Splash's, Sammys, and Pointers, and Pointer DD's in all sizes and various colors for $7.00-$7.50 a pop. No kidding. The cool part is the color selection was not limited to a few patterns that don't sell, they included: Aurora Black; Citrus Shad; Chart Shad; Aurora Green Perch; MS MJ Herring; and American Shad. 8-)

The worst fans in baseball
I was going to stay a quiet observer, but this is getting silly. Who cares about attendance, on either side. Also, it is our right, short of obscene language, to say what we want about a team or its fans. Look how much I've dug on the cubs this year. Did I mean it personally to Burley? No. Let's all just settle down and enjoy the game we live for. It's the LCS for cryin' out loud.

What a freakin' idiot. What grown man needs four body guards, per team rules, to keep him in line? This guy should have all of his assets seized, and spend the rest of his days on the fryer at MickyD's.

I just realized how spoiled my generation is....
What's going to happen if everything crashes one day? People have become beyond dependent on technology. For example, my younger brother breaks his cell phone on a regular basis. Every time this happens he has to call me to ask for people's numbers. Most of these numbers he has been calling his whole life, but he, like so many others, place calls by browsing their call list. Hence, he cannot recall things he has known his entire adult life. Ridiculous! I guess what I am saying is get hard copies of everything, and learn how to do things manually, the old fashioned way. I hope the time never comes, but someday we may need something to fall back on.

THE PENNANTS ARE "ALMOST" IN VIEW AND THE TRASH IS FLYING- 2008
You just don't have the money to sign CC . He's going for the BIG payday and you guys are just like Cleveland------CHEAP. The new owner in Milwaukee is far from cheap. There is a difference between cheap and small market. Look what the Crew's GM gave up for Sabathia alone: a stud in LaPorta, Brantley, and two arms. He basically went all-in. He jacked our payroll up to almost $100 mil. For a small market team, that's a lot of beans. Cleveland is a different story, as they have monkeys running the ballclub.

THE PENNANTS ARE "ALMOST" IN VIEW AND THE TRASH IS FLYING- 2008
Well, at least I got to witness the first Milwaukee playoff win in 26 years. There are some definite bright spots for next year, like Gallardo and Parra. Hopefully we'll be able to make a run at CC. See ya later Sheets.

Chantix- a tale of trying to quit
One thing that has worked for me in the past, is to go out to the bars with my buddies. I would then get stinking drunk, and smoke about a pack and a half of non-filters in the few hours out. I would be so sick for the next few days, I wouldn't want to look at another cig. Good luck Russ. You should get a reward jar going, you know, one of those things where you save the $ you would've spent on cigs. After awhile, you can reward yourself and go nuts at a tackle shop. You'll be crankin' with Steez rods before you know it. After a few months of saving, you may have to change your handle to First_Class_Hooker.

Almost ready for winter...
Last month a small male with very faint spots ran into our F-150 at about 45mph....long story short, after a quick call to the sheriff's dept, we had venison in the freezer a week before bow season even opened.

THE PENNANTS ARE "ALMOST" IN VIEW AND THE TRASH IS FLYING- 2008
That's the only thing getting me through our 0-2 hole; at least nobody expected the 'everyone is injured' Crew to do anything.

Chuck Norris
Check out www.chucknorrisfacts.com. Not only are there a ton of Chuck Norris lines, but you can buy pre-made T's or design your own. One of my favs: Remember the Soviet Union? They decided to quit after watching a Delta Force marathon on satellite TV.

Lures for fall and winter
I'm a bit more North than a lot of our members here at BR, so our bassin' window is much much smaller. Keeping that in mind, one of my most productive lures in the fall is a t-rigged seven inch Berkley Power Worm (and this is going back 10-15 years). Winter, well that's easy: a big shiner or golden roach on a Gammy or Owner treble; a fluoro leader; freeze resistant backing line; and a Frabill 10" Pro-Thermal tip-up.
