  1. I got a few of these a couple years ago. Someone actually hacked into my paypal account. It was from overseas, Spain I believe. I shut it down immediately. Like KYbass said, a mo is the way to go. Not too convenient, but safe.
  2. I'll take that bet. I'll take a DT by the way.
  3. Gotta love Cecil Cooper. I grew up cheering for him. He was one of my fav Brewers as a kid. Coooop. God, I miss yelling that. I really don't see the 'Stros going anywhere. Miguel Tejada? Give me a break. The NL Central should be a two team race. Go Crew. Death to the Chubbies. Fukedome? Fukewiener. Although, if they do deal for Roberts, they'll be tuff to beat. He's a dangerous guy to have in the top third of the order.
  4. You should be able to go to your local store. They'll honor internet prices in-store, at least they should. I've never had a problem with it in the past.
  5. I'd like to see a change. The 100/01 doesn't have a big line capacity, nor HEG. For those who want to buy the current 100/01 for a plastics reel, it's not all that fast at 25 IPT. The 200/01 is as FishTank said, 'a tank.' It is pretty heavy as well at 9.8 oz. I really think Shimano screwed-up with this model of the Curado. Not saying it's not a nice reel, I just think they coulda thought this one out better. JMHO. It's either a small, slow reel or a BIG reel, there is no happpy middle ground here. Doesn't make sense. I understand that people want tech specific reels, but Shimano swung and missed with this one. Again, JMHO.
  6. Deeper water....Zillion Not so deeper water...TD-Z. Love that Zillion. Rock solid, feels great in the hand, and very pleasing to the eye. Love that swept handle..... If you go for the Zillion, and this rod is for casting jigs, I'd go with the 100HA/HLA. It's still very fast with 28 IPT. If this is more of a pitching rod, I'd go with the 100SHA/SHLA. Super fast at 31.6 IPT
  7. Great to hear T. Continued prayers for you bud.
  8. Valverde is a nice pick-up. Being a Brewers fan, I definitely don't like the fact of having to see him in the NL Central. Otherwise......you guys are going nowhere. Even in the broke Central. How many more seasons till Carlos Lee eats himself out of left field? ;D
  9. In the spring it's tough to beat a jig and minnow. A floating jig/minnow on a Lindy rig is a great spring presentation as well. As the water starts to warm around here, we'll go with leeches. If they are relating to the snaggy rock areas you mentioned, livebait on a slip bobber is definitely worth a shot. You can put that bait right in their faces, and make 'em eat. I catch the vast majority of my walleyes every spring on slip bobbers. If you are fishing at night, I highly recommend the Thill Nite Brite bobbers. Well worth the $. As the water warms even more, I love to cast Husky Jerks, Rouges, and Ripsticks, Lil Rippers, Reefrunners, and Ripshads. As Garnet said, a steady retrieve usually works best for walleyes ( rather than the jerk jerk we are all used to for bass). If you are covering a larger area, mibronzeback is right on: drift. Jigs or Lindy rigs with spinners or floating jigs for more shallow water, bottom bouncers for deeper water and/or larger/heavier lures like crawler harnesses. Hope this helps.
  10. I've posted this once before, but this looks like the proper place to reiterate it. After a tackle binge one night at BPS, I was checking my receipt. The d**n thing was longer than my inseam, literally. It spilled onto the floor quite a bit as well. That's a lot of lures.

God bless Muddy. Thanks for sharing.
  12. The Brian Roberts to the Cubs rumor is still going strong. The Chubbies are rumored to be sending at least SP Sean Gallagher, Ronny Cedeno (who is the best SS in the Cubs' organization), and Donald Veal (the Cubs' best pitching prospect). It looks like the Brewers, with their surplus of SP, are shopping Chris Capuano. Boston is rumored to have interest, but they really don't have anything to offer that Milwaukee is interested in.
  13. The crazy thing is, they may not even go that far in the playoffs. There's a good chance a 50 win team from the west might not even make the playoffs. Now the east on the other hand....
  14. Just think, we are guaranteed several more games like that with the tourney coming up....God I love March. Spring training, the NCAA tourney, seeing an end to these miserable WI winters, and getting annihilated on St. Paddy's Day.
  15. I just had the same exact sandwich about 1/2 hour ago. Though the tomatoes were store bought, as our garden is still under snow. It's tuff to beat a good 'ol BLT.
  16. Forgot to add Baseball Tonight.

  18. I can't believe Oregon Trail hasn't been mentioned. I, much like the rest of America's youth, would speed through my math quiz at school just to get a few minutes of Oregon Trail in. A classic.
  19. I know this is a bass fishing forum, but I did really well with a Lucky Craft 100DD Pointer last year for pike. The walleye pattern was my best producer. Give them a shot jjbassjj. If you're looking at the cranks, the Rick Clunn cranks are a great placed to start.
  20. I can never fire a gun in my dreams. If I'm being chased by someone who's trying to hurt me, and I try to shoot them, the gun never works. It's always been that way, ever since I was a kid, probably always will.
  21. On a side note, If you are looking for a spinning rod to primarily fish the cranks and jerkbaits you mentioned, the Techna AV has a 7'0" model that has a moderate action.
  22. If it's going to be primarily a walleye/crappie rod and sometimes bass, I'd go for the ML. If it's going to be a bass rod, and sometimes walleye/crappie, I'd go for a M powered rod. The Techna AV is a very nice rod, and fits your criteria better than the other rods you mentioned. I say that because the M powered AV's have a larger window as far as rod specs are concerned (for what you're fishing). The M powered, fast action AV's are rated from 4-12lb line and 1/8-5/8 lure weight. The HMG medium powered rods are 6-15lb line and 1/4-3/4 oz. If you fish all three of the species you mentioned pretty much equally, and you're looking for one rod to do it all, the medium powered Techna AV's are an excellent option. They have three medium powered, fast action models: 6'0"; 6'6"; and 7'0". As I said, these are very nice rods. My brother has the 6'6" L model (1/8-1/2), and it every spring for Lindy rigs when walleye fishing. It's very sensitive and a pleasure to fish with. Hope this helps.
  23. It's been said a few times aready, but I have to reiterate what other forum members have said: frogs. I wouldn't fish frogs, or other slop baits, without a burner reel with robust gearing, like the Daiwa Zillion, Shimano Curado, or Revo STX. The super fast gear ratio will help you turn that big fish fast before she has a chance to bury down into the thick cover, because we all know she's gonna try.
  24. It's a sad day for bowling here in Brewtown. The US Bowling Congress, which has been in Milwaukee for over 100 years, is leaving town. As one bowler put it, "Bowling is part of Milwaukee's identity...It's a travesty."
  25. I always tie directly to the line with one exception: an annual spring walleye trip with my buddies. On this trip we do a lot of night fishing, as the wallyes come up on the shallow main bar on the lake. Casting jerkbaits is the ticket. On this particular trip I'm pretty well in the bag by 10pm, but we catch fish until the wee hours...this is where the snap-swivel is nice. Drunk+night=swivel. I used to be sketchy about using them, thinking they'd repel the fish. On the contrary, I caught my PR walleye on a Husky Jerk attached to a snap-swivel on a lake not know for 'eyes over 5 lbs.
