Other Options?
peg a 1/4 oz weight to a 5 in senko and pitch it into the weeds.

Taking it to the next level
On that subject, I really recommend "The Psychology of Exceptional Fishing" by Jay McNamara. It is available through amazon. It provides some of the tools to take your game to the next level.

Hooks and weights for t-rigging tubes?
on a 4" tube I like a 3/0 EWG hook and start with 1/4 oz weight. I peg the weight with a bobber stop.

ALEWIFE'S......
Look at it as an opportunity. Everybody else is having trouble too. You need to find either the right alewife pattern(topwater?), or find a spot where they are on a crawfish bite and fish a jig.

Budget friendly cranks?

Smallie sweet beaver on slider head???
I use them on a 1/8 oz spot remover pro model head. It stands up nice. I tried te regular spot remover but that spike doesn't hold the beaver the way the spring does on the pro.

Lazer Trokar Hooks
10.00 a pack of 4-5 hooks. They've got to charge that to pay that pro staff. I'll check them out when they're on the clearance rack.

I'm giving you $150.00...
lizards, paca craws, sweet beavers, and baby brush hogs for creature baits. Tubes, senkos, and trick worms cover most of the rest. Toad baits too(ribbits work well)

Your thoughts on this idea
put the small one in front. it's more natural to have the big one chase the small one

Crankbait Color At Night?
white in full moon or near bright shoreline lights. dark(black) all other times

Where/What kind of trailer hook to buy
If you fish open water, try a #2 treble hook and then add surgical tube piece
-
Jig trailer for flipping.
It's true, you do hang up less in heavy weeds with a narrower trailer. I use a zoom swimming chunk when I fish a weed jig for that reason. When I am using a flipping jig, I use a standard trailer.

New England Record Bass?
East twin also has a healthy trout population. alewife will only get a bass so far. to get that big they need a really fattening meal.
-
seen this senko color???
There are handpour guys that will make what you're looking for. I also seem to remember that Yamamoto will do custom colors, but you have to buy a large quantity

Topwaters
Starting out limit yourself to two colors. White belly for cloudy days and silver belly for sunny days. The color of the back really doesn't matter as much.

Charlie Ingram's Show
I think we all got stuck watching it this weekend because ESPN2 had tennis on. If he said "aruku" one more time I was going to throw a shoe through the TV

Snakeheads in Massachusetts.
There are bowfin in some of the coves off the connecticut river.

Discontinued Lures
It would be nice if there was a way for manufacturers to tell us they were discontinuing something before they did. It's one of the reasons I'm such a slave to the bait monkey. You never know when your favoritr bait or color will be discontinued. 4" power worm black/blue tail

Jitterbugs
Reel it steady. It takes some practice since you can't see the bait, but start with your rod tip high and bring it down to the water as the bait gets closer. Make sure you can hear it working as it comes in and be aware of what noise it was making when a fish hits. That will tell you what retrieve speed to use.

Want to start tournament fishing more seriously.
Spend wisely. Only buy the best equipment and gear. Maintain and take care of it. Wasting money on garbage tackle can hamper you in your goal. If you see the Bait Monkey..... RUN!

Sinker Pegging And Plastics
I peg with bobber stops. They don't push the weight to one side or damage the line like a toothpick. you can also move them on the line to adjust for the sinker fitting the nose of the bait.

Bait ideas for dock skipping?

best line for son's pole.
I have my kids using Cajun red cast 8lb on spinning gear. It's a better line than I would have expected. The bulk spool was 8 bucks for 1600 yards. They think the red is cool and they still catch fish.

any bass fishing books you guys would recommend?
The Psychology of Exceptional Fishing It mostly relates to bass but can be applied to any kind of fishing. It's really an asset if you fish tournaments.

New senko rig.
I can see it working better if there is more weight in the middle. maybe a wacky weight? I think Lunker City makes one that would work
