  1. i;ve used it before and have had no problems. seems the same, maybe a little bit more memory but no big deal. and if i'm not mistaken i believe it a tad smaller in diameter...
  2. not tryin to sound smart but what about the hook? that seems a bit chubby to have a good hook set... good imagination though!
  3. Thanks SMfisher, and CFFF 1.5 most of the guys who stayed on the main river had a tough time i heard. the springs where much warmer so they where beddin pretty good in there.
  4. The morning started out pretty cold... bout 33 degrees but soon warmed up to low 70's. My partner and I chose to run to Sliver Glen, A spring where we knew the water would be warmer and bed fished all day. We ended up placing 5th out of 57, and cut a nice litte check. Our bag ended up weighing 11.17lbs which ain't alot but that's all it took cause many had a tough time. Oh and 1st place was fishing right next to us! they had 20lbs!
  5. WOW! really!?! gee did i say that they were the same??? ...nope! i was just giving a recommendation for trying something different, so don't get you panties in a wad.
  6. maybe try the owner shakey heads they have a much bigger gap, they're very sharp, and maybe a smaller or shorter bait..
  7. yea i went to the weigh in and it definitely surpassed my expectations! how'd you do? i met up with billybob from BR and showed him some places, only problem was he had that John Kremer guy right next to him! ;D o well..
  8. i'm bout to go check in the St. Johns on Friday. Just fished a tourny in Toho last weekend and saw beds but nothing special.
  9. Haha! Yeah I didn't work my way to the top of the food chain to eat lettuce!
  10. went there a year ago and ran to the Seneca River area and fished between Eighteenmile creek and Coneross creek. I fished the smaller creeks and found plenty of brush piles! we used rattle traps and shakey head(red bug). you have to fish these brush piles for a while sometimes, but there is always fish in them. we pulled 15.05 lbs one day in one spot alone. PM me if you need more specifics.
  11. bass buster- im from around here and your gonna be in pre-spawn to spawn. just bring cranks(traps gold and green shiner, bomber 6A firetiger!) flippin/pitchin gear, and whatever else your confidence baits are. the fish should be shallow and hopefully not on beds if your a nonboater(unless you like getting back-boated..) good luck to ya let me know how it goes!
  12. Toho January 4 water was 67 degrees in the morning and warmed up to 71 later on. went prefishing and caught 17 fish, none more then 2lbs though. caught them on small gold strike king trap, lucky craft rc 1.5 ghost minnow, and shaky head wtr melon red trick worm. the bigguns haven't moved up yet, im guessin cause the temp but maybe this full moon coming with put a spark under em'.
  13. actually bud i found that when you heat up the lead a dip it in the powder, when you take it out hit it with the flame again- this will give it the shine and harden it up, give it a try!
  14. yeah my buddies and i every once in a while get together about 7-10 boats and throw in $20. third gets money back second doubles their money first gets the rest. Its always fun especially when you have the latest bragging rights!
  15. is there any tournament action going on around Florida? i go to University of Central Florida (no fishing team) but i'd surely participate in something that isn't too far.
  16. does squirrel fishing count, you know like puttin bread on a hook and dragin it across the ground. (kinda like bed fishin!) I don't know if there's squirrels over there but im sure you can find somethin! ;D And yes this is a sick joke!
  17. i understand what your sayin but would that work for 'casting' the drop-shot? i don't do much vertical shotin here in florida. wouldn't the pegged weight slip off during the cast, or do you tie a knot below the peg to prevent this?
  18. just do it! really, your gonna get your bait snagged no matter how experience you are. you just have to try it and get the feel for it. one main thing to not get it stuck so often, is feeling the difference between structure and a fish. when i fisrt began throwing them every time i felt a tap i set... into structure. so when your digging the crankbait and run into something just stop it for a sec so it floats up or moves to the side and continue. most of the time the bill of the crank will make the bait bounce off the structure (especially with square-bills). now with lipless crank, no so much- but i personally dont throw those as much in fallen trees and brush piles as i do with lipped cranks...
  19. thanks basshammer, has anyone got info on Jones Bluff Lake just south of cooters pond? Saw it on arial map and thought it looked good...
  20. Black and Blue paca craw my friend!! flip grass- takes a while but there are some huge fish in there.(50lb braid) my bud caught a 12lb there. also shad colored spinnerbait and firetiger 6A work well. water obviously should be up, so more hidey holes to flip! there should be some off shore eel grass to fish on the southern side..
  21. i don't know about the level... but i do know that watermelon and green pumpkin finesse (light weight or weightless) or senkos work great. also lipless cranks in gold and silver/blue.
  22. that's is prob the funniest article i've read in a while! But really the Largemouth is the CHUCK NORRIS of freshwater!! ;D ;D
  23. You know someone will buy that thing too! that's freggin funny ;D
