  8. I had a tourny on the Harris Chain on Saturday. our pattern we had didn't work out due to the weather, but we still caught our limit 8.33 lbs which was only good for 22nd place. 1st place had 18+ lbs. we caught our fish off aruku shad in kissimme grass with eel grass patches scattered around it.
  9. when i made one i also used a grill igniter or grill lighter which i made into a handle to hold like a regular gun. man that thing was so much fun!! ;D
  10. i don't care if they destroy the bass population or not, i still hate them nasty things and hope to gut hook every one of em'. > come down to Florida and get frustrated with them...you'd understand.
  11. ha this pic of me was up in kentucky in 40 somethin degrees 15-20 mhp wind....i love fishin, the other are the waterfalls in the parkinglot!
  12. Harris Chain sunday April 20. my fishing partner and another good friend fished the sunday tourny without me :-/ . they got third place with 18-3. they fished a canal off Apopka/buclair canal that's hard to get through. they caught all their fish off senkos with exception of one on a LC 1.5. (their big fish was 6-13) The two boats that placed 1st and 2nd where in the same area , Carlton/ Beuclair. flipping and cranking grass.
  13. i've said this in the other Spot post, at my National tourny in Kentucky they told us to Judge the fish by the Jaw...if it's at the eye (spot) or if it goes past the eye(largemouth) they said this mainly because many people there couldn't tell just by looking, but also because many of the fish up there did or didn't have certain characteristics they should due to cross breeding.
  14. that's exactly what i was told. the only legal way to tell is the jawline like i said before, some spots don't have the patch on their tounge. but yeah that's a toad fish, congrats!
  15. congrats!!! you gotta make a trip down here to Florida next spring and so you can catch another PB!
  16. yeah there's some good canals off there, also flippin the pads works. you prefishin any friday? let me know.....
  17. my favorite pike (chain pickeral, smaller in florida)bait is a sliver jerk bait, they'll also kill rattle traps and white spinnerbaits, i hate em'
  18. i've been known to play a little string music! OH.. but i only know one note....thwack.
  19. anyone goning to be out there???
  20. on a large mouth the jaw line does exceed the eye(its too hard to tell when the mouth is open anyhow), oh and i say its a spot due to the dorsal fin being seperated (on a LM its connected)...The only true way to know (by the law man) is if the jawline meets or exceeds the eye...and we cant see that, and yes i believe they do interbreed.
  21. white zoom speed craw
  22. i use white, but thats so i can see where its at. if you ever go swimmin check out the color of it, they all look black from a little ways down.
  23. i prefer tungsten for it smaller size to fit baits, and extra sensitivity since i don't use braid on everything. it is personal preference but i'll spend some extra money on what i believe will help me catch more fish.
  24. i fished there last Sept. for my regional tourny. placed 11th. we ran up to the river almost to Clemson(bout 5-10 miles away) fished coves with creek channels. Mainly we targeted barely visible brush pile and threw shakey heads( it took quite a while for them too bite sometimes, but they're there) aslo threw shallow cranks and spinnerbaits around piles and creek channel. **the winner got lucky passing by someone who was killin em off some dock with a spinnerbait, the guy caught his limit and told them they could have it.. they culled every fish they had at that one dock. >
  25. pretty much what everyone else said, unless you get the nod, just find that pattern somewhere else on the lake.
