  1. I have a 9'6" basshunter and love it. It is easy to put in and out by yourself and it has plenty of room. I am 6'3 250 and have no problem, even with my wife in the rear seat. Get yourself a good trolling motor and you are set for most lakes, especially here in N. Illinois. Good luck in your search. Jon
  2. The patch in the mouth is one way and here are the other two. A largemouths jaw will extend passed its' eye, while a spots will end at or before. Also, the two dorsal fins almost look connect on a spot, while on a largemouth there is a little space between the two. Hope this helps. I just learned it about a week ago watching a show in TV. Jon
  3. I borrowed an ultra bass hunter 9.5 ft. plastic boat(you can find it on BPS.com if you want some info.) from a buddy to use last season. The trolling motor he let me borrow, late 90's motor guide , stopped working for it. I bought a new 50lb minn kota to use for this season. Here is my question. It is pre-wired to mount the trolling motor on the bow and have the battery in the back. However, the wires that run through the boat are quite thin. Not sure exactly sure what gauge. Could this cause a problem if I were to use this setup? Will it harm the trolling motor?Could this be why the last trolling motor stopped working? I don't know if it matters, but I fish approx. 4 hours each time I go. Also, if you recommend I change the wire, what is a good wire for my situation? It would be about a 10 ft. run. Thanks in advance for the help. Jon
  4. Thanks for the great information. Using the formula, I would definitely go with the 36". Again, thanks for the responses. Now I just need to get out to BPS. Jon
  5. I am currently fishing out of a plastic bass hunter boat. I for a new trolling motor and it seems the minn kota endura fits the bill. I found the 50lb at wally world for $200, but it has the 42" shaft. Is is too long for the boat? It is had to pass up such a good price plus a $60 rebate. Thanks for the help. Jon
