Heard horror stories about Alabama Reel Medic. I actually think some have been scammed on this forum. I have not used DVT, but they are trusted and get great reviews by other members. I'd send mine there if I didn't do it myself.

I LOVE Shimano reels, but I prefer Daiwa spinning reels over Shimano. I've only got two spinning setups, but they are both driven by 2500 Fuegos and they are just as smooth as when I got them. Something about the bail on the Stradic turned me away from Shimano spinning reels....for now.

St. Croix Avid 6'3 Med. X Fast comes to mind. It might have a faster action tip, but is not stiff like other X Fast actions. I'd call it a "mod/fast tip" that loads up real quick. I also think Shimano makes a 6'3 Med. Fast action Crucial. Looking for a good jerkbait rod are ya?

I don't think it matters either. Fish with a rod you feel the most comfortable fishing. Things to take into consideration are handle style, handle length, reel seat, taper of blank, and length of rod. No one is more important than the other. I will say that a 7ft. rod in my hands (6'4) probably feels more like a 6'8 rod in someone around the average height. I fish 6'6-7'6 rods and each has their place. I've even tossed around the idea of getting a 6'3 rod.

Here ya go: 1) What is the difference between the colors of the VBS brake weights? The Pink,Clear, and Smoke weights are lighter and are most commonly used for every application. The Green weights are heavier and for use with lures that require more braking action. The grey weights are even heavier for use with lures that need more braking action than what the green can provide.

Citica or Revo S gets my vote. I just saw a "like new" Citica for around $85. Keep your eye opening in the flea market and you will find either reel at a good price.

I've got both and I use the D7 and 51E for pitching. I would have no problem using an E7, but I like it for throwing bigger T rigs and on a buzzbait/spinnebait rod.

Fuego 2500 guy here. I actually just picked another one up tonight. I haven't tried the newer silver ones, but you can't beat the old red ones for the prices you can find them at.

Sorry, but I haven't used the deep flex series. The only time I would look for a more moderate action rod is if it was dedicated to deep cranks and deep cranks only. You might want to send Bronzefly a message and see what he has to say. That man knows his Loomis rods. I wonder if that CBR906 might be the rod you are looking for. I bet it would supplement the 843 well. Sorry I am not of much help. I have only fished the 783, 843, and 845 CBR rods.

I have not thrown a Carolina rig with it yet, but I bought a Dobyns DX744 to throw them and TX rigs. If I planned to throw anything more than a 1/2oz weight plus plastic, I would not recommend the rod. For everything between 3/16 to 1/2oz. it is perfect.

By size, are you talking about length or power? Have you fished the 845 yet?

They all make good reels. Definitely go to Cabelas or BPS (depending on where you are in N. IL) and play around with them all. Try LH and RH reels on different rods. With that said, I prefer Shimano baitcasting reels and Daiwa Spinning reel.

I've used 12# Hybrid for T Rigs and pitching plastics. It works just fine. Thinking about trying Braid/Fluoro or straight fluoro for soft plastics this year. Heck, if I don't like it; I've got enough 12# Ultra Soft to go around. ;D

Did you really need the third, or was it the fact that the shipping was the same for 2 or 3? ;D 6# Spinning 10# Crankbaits and Topwater 12# Square bills, Spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits, and Traps. All around use as well if I am not using Fluoro.

I place them on the end of a pencil and blow dry with canned air or an air compressor. If you don't have access to either of these, a couple spins with your finger and then let them air dry will work fine.

I've got a few Gen 2's myself. Only problems I've had were one came shipped with a cracked guide and two rods came with a large dent in the cork. TW took care of the dented ones as they were the ones that shipped them and Rich Dobyns took care of the one with the cracked guide no questions asked. Great rods with excellent customer service.

I will add plastics in close quarters like around docks, etc.

Tin, are you confusing XF with MF? The XF would be less "whippy" and load up quicker than the fast.
