  1. I agree, but the point stands - no one can really know. It's always a guess.
  2. It's 49 and dropping here. It was almost 80 last week.
  3. The same thing can be said about profile. Or color. Or whatever.
  4. A 7' rod for jerkbaits is pretty much too big, especially if you are that low to the water. No matter the boat, I use a 6' 2" rod for this. You can get a 20' bass boat to turn with some lipped baits, so that aspect is something you learn to deal with. I fish spinnerbaits a lot, and I actually make a cast that will correct the turn in my kayak. I often catch on these correction casts, so it's not a waste to me.
  5. I like to use Megastrike in my hair. Smooth and silky! A dab will do ya!
  6. When in doubt, offer a tip.
  7. Some tools work better than others in certain situations. I prefer to have all the tools.
  8. I only peg it when working through pads or wood.
  9. If you like using your right hand to hold the rod, get a left hand bait casting reel.
  10. Bring back Windows 98 - the best OS ever.
  11. We've gotten as low as 40s at night, but it's been floating in the 60s for a bit here. All I can think of of this great album:
  12. Direct any GPS complaints to:
  13. I think we're thinking the same way. The lake has to give up the fish in my head though. Sometimes I have to donate a lure or two to satisfy the lake. No, I got it right. Doesn't change my mentality.
  14. I use Megastrike. I put it on right before I fish it.
  15. Me either. I will also say, it doesn't even interest me in things like fishing, music, art, etc. I do fish tournaments, but in my head it's me against the lake, not somehow proving I am better than someone else.
  16. I don't know about a fish hanging on - I know of no science that supports this - but it defintiely is what determines the sink rate, and yes, way more than a Zinker. Sounds like you never used any GYCB plastics. Like a Senko, only a slower fall.
  17. Why do you think they add salt? The salt is what gives the Zero it's sink rate.
  18. It's the striper guys trolling trout pattern plugs (AC Plugs) giving up the ghost about all the big bass they caught that was one of the contributing factors that got the whole swimbait craze started in the early 90s. Pretty sure Tom can back that up - he was there for it all.
  19. Oh lord, here we go with the measuring sticks....lol. Here's some reference. This bass was 7 lbs. 1 oz. This baby was 8 lbs. even.
  20. I don't believe anyone is intentionally trying to deceive by offering their experiences, it's just that not everything applies to everyone's unique situation. The whole "fish can't resist this lure...." hard sell is just noise that is ever present in every realm of our lives. It's just marketing. Do I really need a vacuum sealer? Probably not, but the one I have I've used two or three times in ten years. It seemed like I had to have it at the time.
  21. The goal is catching largemouth bass with trout swimbaits. I've caught on the Savage gear baits pretty well. I like the Hudds and Trash Fish better. For the top hook baits, I usually use a Butch Brown rig. For the line through, just use a strong Owner ST-41 hook of appropriate size. For Weedless, I much prefer the softer Trash Fish to anything SG offers.
