- Defining what a “Workhorse” casting reel is…
I don't really find out if a reel is a workhorse until I've worked it like a horse. Most reels I've used have been fine, with a few exceptions. I have a Megabass Alphas Ito Ai that is retired. The other reel that didn't last was a Curado K. I've had and still have many Alphas platform reel and Curado/Chronarchs that have lasted me many years, so I think those were isolated instances.- Some Older Rebel Crankbaits
Those are great baits! Fish them. There's a whole lot more on Rebel baits in this thread:- Kayak lure box
5-6 3700 size Edge boxes, an FTO spinnerbait wallet, and a Speed Bag or two.- Advice needed: Best St Croix rod (money no object) for lighter moving baits
I REALLY like my AVC70MM for smaller cranks. It's graphite and I appreciate the sensitivity that offers. It makes it easier to tell when the bait makes contact with cover.- Veterans Day

Ha! https://www.richz.com/fishing/blog/?page_id=2- what about no wind, u can hear every sound, water like a sheet of glass?
- Squarebilling structure questions?
Deflection is a key deal with all crankbaits. Squarebills are really good coming through wood.- Gripping a Spinning Rod Redux
Watch the video I posted, it's more than just line slapping a finger once per turn. It's a little crude, but works for me. If you panic, you can stop the lure dead just grabbing the whole spool.- Bass fishing after a huge rain?
Look for flooded brush.- Suggest a lipless?
That pretty much describe the RES. Not my favorite vibe bait, but it is the best shimmy on the fall.- Finn & Gill
The broken hearted crab is the best!- Would You Fish Out This? Could You?
They don't have one in stock and it's a little over 2.5 hours away. They only have a Heritage and a few Opens in stock. I guess I could see build quality from those boats, but I'd like to buy off the floor if possible, when I'm ready.- Gripping a Spinning Rod Redux
Man, I wish I was good enough to just touch the lip with my finger. I'm a little envious of people that have developed that skill.- 10% off everything
Shoot Mike a pm. He'll fix it. I've done the same thing,lol.- 10% off everything
Wire tied skirts will outlast the hook, usually. It also gives a unique flair to the skirt, especially round rubber. In fact I think it's crucial to the "slow bloom" presentation that rubber is so well liked for.- 10% off everything
Yes asking questions about any product is always okay.- 10% off everything
Give me a break, you have access to those privileges should you qualify to be a sponsor. This is how we pay the bills. 70,000+ members are treated exactly the same as you. If you have any other questions, ask Glenn directly, as you were instructed in your warning. Any other complaining about this in the open forums will be deleted.- Would You Fish Out This? Could You?
Once the queen sees that double stern seat and a porcelain head option, and it's gonna be all over for me, lol.- Would You Fish Out This? Could You?
Uh oh, there's a Sportsman dealer fairly close in Clayton, NY.- "False Spawn" Smallmouth?
There's a lot in the bays, but not all leave the big lake. In the bays, it's all about moving baits. I kill at Fairhaven using x-deep cranks.- Would You Fish Out This? Could You?
Six hours from me. @slonezp that's a pretty boat. There's a couple things I don't care for, but that thing has a lot.- Mac users... speeding up Safari
The only time I use FireFox is when running a Selenium script to get tickets for a concert or schedule an appointment for Covid shot or the DMV, lol.- "False Spawn" Smallmouth?
It was a good question, and lots of people will learn a thing or two about bass biology, which is cool. So, thank you! - Defining what a “Workhorse” casting reel is…
