Sway Bar?
Sounds like a well meaning old friend offering advice that wasn't quite applicable. You were right to hop on the n here and ask around about it. Nice job. No one knows it all.

It depends more on the person tying the knot.

Don't Believe Everything You Read/Hear
Fallen tree trumps dying grass. All the grass dies, so they gotta be somewhere. That and I can't resist lumber in the water.

Sway Bar?
I can't see it helping anything. The camper has one and it's a pain. Well, the whole camper is a pain, why it's for sale lol.

YakAttack Landing Net or Other?
It's fine. I don't always use a net for pike, though.

Rappahonock River Grind
10 years ago people were freaking out about them. I'd love to catch some.

Sway Bar?
A sway bar? Do you mean a sway control hitch? I've never seen this on a bass rig. Are you seeing sway now? Is the trailer 100% level?

YakAttack Landing Net or Other?
I used the Leverage Landing Net for years before Yakattack took over the product. I now use a Frabil Bear Claw and love it. It's much more compact and easier to deal with in the kayak.

1st Pickerel
People say that the yellow perch disappeared around here, but in spring there are gigantic schools in shallow on Lake Ontario. The fish are all big and I'm talking gigantic schools, like a few square miles. Personally, I think they could probably increase the limits. There used to be a sustainable commercial yellow perch industry, but that disappeared with the 50 fish/day limit. I have no problem finding 20 or so for a fish fry in late fall.

1st Pickerel
I don't eat chain pickerel - it's not worth the time to fillet them, but northern pike is delicious. It's not up there with walleye or yellow perch, but it is one the top 5 freshwater eating fish. I can't think of a better species to make fish stock from for sauces. Whenever I fished Oneida, we'd always load the well up with a limit of pickerel and deliver them to the local Chinese restaurant in exchange for some dinner. They loved them for their own use.

Spinning vs Casting for Jerkbaits/Trebled Topwaters
Don't use braid, or pick a limp brand.

Dumb battery question
I would start digging. Water in a hull that doesn't drain sounds like a big problem.

Favorite spinnerbait weight and color
White or white and chartreuse 1/2 and 3/4 oz. I like to be able to change blades out. The only company that I've seen makes them so you change the front blade was Secret Weapon, but they aren't around anymore.

*MVL* Most Valuable Lure for 2020?
I only have white or white and chartreuse spinnerbaits. They almost always produce.

Spinning vs Casting for Jerkbaits/Trebled Topwaters
I totally disagree. Most often a spinning reel is used with unweighted, slack line presentations precisely because it allows more control and a free falling bait. What I think you are referring to is line lay on the spool. If that's a problem, the line you are using is either too heavy or too stiff for the presentation.

Spinning vs Casting for Jerkbaits/Trebled Topwaters
If the issue is what hand you hold the rod just get a left handed bait caster. There isn't really any logic other than the baits I use are heavier and I use line that isn't really suitable for spinning reels used in bass fishing. If I'm using something smaller, I'll use a spinning rig but that is rare.

Don't Believe Everything You Read/Hear
I have yet to see a bait that I felt would not catch a fish.

Rage Space Monkey
The space monkey has to be around 10 years old. I use it on a T-rig, Jika rig, and I buzz them with no weight like a toad. They are always in my tackle bag.
-
Don't Believe Everything You Read/Hear
They bite the bait in where they can't see the hook.
-
Baitcaster gear ratio
That depends on the spool diameter. The reels I use are 5.8:1 and 5.0:1.
