Help Me Pprice My Boat
Here's one that's exactly similar, and it hasn't sold: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Bass-Boat-Trailer-1996-STRATOS-285XL-Johnson-150-HP-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem35af6feae6QQitemZ230576614118QQptZFishingQ5fBoats What's with the high prices? I just looked at NADA, and it says $4400 retail. What am I missing? Motor? Anyway, boats like that are a dime a dozen around here, definitely shop around, and get it checked out by your mechanic.

Boats like that sell for around $4K up here.

Rod Length vs. Your height?
Actually the more I think about it, the geometry is the same, regardless of rod length. If the gunwales are too high, they're too high.

scrounger jig heads
Weight determines running depth, lip size for speed. Heavier, = deeper, bigger lip = slower. Trail and error gets you to the right combo. Different trailers change both aspects.

Rod Length vs. Your height?
Seems like a longer rod would help you in a boat with high gunwales. Too high though, and a roll cast would be better - so you'd want a shorter rod.

Clunn goes with.......Wright and McGill???
Probably an upgrade to that BPS stuff. RC could probably beat the pants off of most with a willow branch and twine.

Which reel for dropshotting..
If you are fishing deep for smallmouth, ignore all specs except IPT and check the drag. Smaller reels have low IPT by virtue of small spool circumference. I find that a Daiwa 2500 or Shimano 2500 work equally as well. The Daiwa has a lower gear ratio, but the ACS spool makes up for that. My main drop shot reel is a Stradic CI4. Between the two Okuma reels, I'd say the larger one. No one is going to feel the difference in .4 oz. But if it were to me, I wouldn't use either - too heavy.

Rod Length vs. Your height?
Huh? I pitch with an 8 footer, and I'm 5'7". What would height have to do with it, please explain.

Thoughts on rod balancing.
Mike, does adding weight to the butt end of the really change things a whole lot? I mean, it can't really ruin a rod, can it?

Removing cork from handle

Did you consult your almighty Kuerig for that prediction?

The Keurig
Massholes love their Duncan Donuts..... Those K-cups are a rip off. Work switched from the 10 cent cups of regular brew to these goofy machines. Now I do up a 40 oz. press of whatever good stuff I ground myself, and take it in a big Stanley thermos.

Not bad, Nate. Get rid of the OOF foregrounds, though. Otherwise, the subjects look great.

Threaded vs Spearing Jig Trailer
I don't use them anymore.....

scrounger jig heads
Lip size affects the speed of retrieve. Longer = slower.

Threaded vs Spearing Jig Trailer
Depends on what I want in profile, and fall rate. I don't have many issues with balled up baits, or at least no more than slipping baits when threaded. Threaded is pretty compact: But speared can be a HUGE bait:

Action of a weightless slug-go
The Slug-O is literally the Senko of the 80s. I knew guys that ONLY used this bait. Its a precursor to the fluke baits, and really is the reason we have wide gap hooks. Its a jerkbait, plain and simple. Cast it out, and twitch with a slack line.

Daiwa 50th anniversary Zillion
The last ones were blown out the door for $199 and some got 20% off that, IIRC. The last few sold on eBay went for around $180.
