Random thoughts while driving
Then I went and caught the second biggest bass this year on a frog. Over thick grass. In the middle of the day. I know nothing...

Random thoughts while driving
That's an observation I share as well. Good stuff to ponder Catt.

Which Rig is best for weedy pond?
I just caught a 6.01 LMB from a 90% weed choked pond while on my lunch break. Spro frog, lathered with Megastrike, thrown on my flipping stick loaded with 65# braid. Yahoo! Try some frogs

Tubes
Yep, they make a lot of great baits: http://www.venomlures.com/venom_plastics.htm.

Venom contain Megastrike - give them a try.

Wiggle Rig/Mojo rig
Sorry, the BassResource.com search feature wasn't working- that's why i went to google. That's just my little good hearted jab when something is so easy to find. My wife will ask me some inane question, like what's in mayonnaise, that I don't have the answer for, and my response is, "What the heck, is Google down again!"

Lead Lights?
Lead? Probably made in China, LOL. But seriously, a guy in our club installed them all over his boat. Looks like a disco before 1st light. Yes, they are helpful at night.

"Fool a Fish" uv ray spray.
This is actually the hot ticket for salmon and trout in deep water. Many charter captains out west say its like cheating. I can't see it being applicable to most bass fishing.

How big is too big?
Learn how to land the fish by lipping it, or get a net.

How do you keep bass from wriggling around after you caught it.
That works for trout too. They are slippery devils, and when they are over 10, can be a lot to handle. Just remember to turn it back over for the hero shot, LOL. (my buddy Kase getting silly after about 20 of these fish one day)

Still spawning? Possible?
Keep an eye on those fish, fizhle. That could be something much worse, or could be nothing at all. If you start noticing carcasses, call the DEP.

Still spawning? Possible?
Same here. Local pond, water temps had to be in the 80s, and a pair of fish on beds. Black Lake, NY: water temp. of 77, and smallies on beds. These fish apparently are illiterate, and never read the book. I have also caught MANY very fat fish, with heavy stomachs and roughed up fins. My take is that these are post spawn fish, beginning to feed heavily. The rigors of spawning can leave their marks for quite a while, and I've seen dinged up tails well into August.

Wiggle Rig/Mojo rig
Google is working again.... http://www.secretweaponlures.com/spectastic.htm Killer on bedding bass. And this link has more than you'll ever need to know about the Mojo rig, from the source: http://www.mojolures.com/

LOL, you guys are too much. Wet your hands, and hold it like this:

weakest link or knot?
Google "knot wars" and take the first link. My own personal preferences: I don't like the Palomar with braid, and prefer a Uni Knot. Palomar is a good knot with fluoro, nylon, and copoly, though any knot with fluoro must be tied carefully. When using a leader, I use an Allbright special to connect the two lines. I've used an improved clinch with copoly and spinnerbaits for years, and have no issue. Its easy to tie with such a bulky bait. So with those exceptions, I generally use a Palomar. Always lubricate the knot with saliva when dressing up and tightening the connection.

Lets talk buzz baits
Those are what I was talking about. They fit better in the FTO, though you can't carry as many.

Computer Help--Low Virtual Memory
Now that you've brought this up, my computer is slow as well and I occasionally get the same virtual memory box. I know I have a lot of processes running in the background and would like to end some of them but I don't know how to tell what they are doing and which ones to close. Get CCleaner. It deletes temporary file clutter but it also has a utility that shows you the startup processes and where they originate (which can help you figure out what they are). If you can't figure out what they are, then google the process and you will find it. Another VERY good bit of advice.

Lets talk buzz baits
I've been interested in these for some time now. The major problem that I have with them is figuring out how to store them! I use a spinnerbait binder to hold my buzzbaits and spinnerbaits and they won't fit in there. I fish from shore so tackle that is easy to pack up and carry is critical. Are these really worth the hassle of finding out how to carry them around? Here is what I FINALLY settled on for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits:FTO Wallets. One tip: make sure the skirts are pointed toward the zipper side, and smooth them down before loading them in the wallet. otherwise, the deeper Plano boxes, like the 7080 works OK.

Kayak/Canoe Tournament
PM me, and I can get an email from a friend that organizes these types of tournaments.

Well its about that time to let the bass out of the bag-Megastrike
Good luck at ICAST Bobby! I'm curious to see the new spinnerbait, as I appreciate some the better designs.

Snap swivel or tie directly to lure?
I use snaps, and I use swivels, but NEVER together. Snap Swivels are for attaching weights to the line on a trolling rig. They just aren't robust enough for several jarring hooksets. They also foul the lure easily. I tie direct for just about all single hook applications. For treble hooks, I remove the split ring on the bait, and use a Duo-loc snap. Use a Palomar knot to connect the snap. After each fish you catch, or every 5 or so casts, inspect the line and the knot. Retie as necessary. For double fluke rigs, c-rigging, and other unweighted plastics, I will use a swivel.

Computer Help--Low Virtual Memory
Lose Norton, and get NOD32. While you're at it, add some RAM. A screen shot of your process list in task manager would be most useful.

Experienced something new today....
Chlorine becomes at a gas above 78°, so its pointless to mix it with hot water

Finally tried a Curado E7
The Core and Chronarch are similar reels. The Aldebaron is the smaller, lighter finesse version of the Curado.
