Would You Fish Out This? Could You?
I'll be doing way more bass fishing than salmon fishing in this next boat. I don't have any interest in trolling deep for fish.

Mercury's Newest Mutant Motor ~
One of the test rigs had five on it. Power to weight ratio is the important stat. A little 2.5 L V-6 pushed my Bullet to almost 85 mph. I think most of these off shore boats do around 60, in much bigger waves.

Never mind that stuff at the bottom, until she gets her gall bladder out, she gets turkey bacon.

Are Big Swimbaits Worth it??
It sounded like you were comparing the price of a Lexa with a Tranx. $200-300 ain't cheap for anyone at any age.

Straight FC on spinning reel?
All this, plus start by spooling up with Invisx or Tatsu. I like 6#, but you can go up to 8# on a 2500/3000 size reel.

Put a swivel and a single hook on them all!

They're about the same price?

Application specific rods what does it mean?
I'm 5'7" and use an 8' rod to pitch pretty regularly. I'm not sure why people think it's a tall person thing.

Mercury's Newest Mutant Motor ~
The steering in the lower unit is pretty cool. Take away the expensive steering unit on the transom, and they're actually saving a bit of coin, and they only take up 1" more space on the transom than 400 hp. The price of one 600 is also less than two 300s. How long before somebody straps on to a comp layup Bullet that weighs 400 lbs. less? These are for big boats, though that steering tech and two speed LU is new and could be interesting if it trickles down to lower HP motors.

Favorite Spinnerbait Brand / Series ?
I like the Stanley Wedge, Wedge Plus, and Siebert Cosmic/Cosmic Flash spinnerbaits.

curly tail worms and bait caster
Not for a grub. Tie direct to the jig.

Was this a good hookset and retrieve?
That's a good point and many beginners screw up the grip. It looked like he had two fingers on either side of the reel foot, which is fine. I go with three. It seems like I gain a tiny bit of control, and it just feels better to me.

JJ I hear you about old recipes. The Perogie recipe disappeared when my grandfather passed 30 years ago. Legit Polish stuff. I've kept a couple alive from the Irish side of the family though.

Livescope/Active Target: Ghost Tree Gone. Apples To Apples
Might I suggest leaving those other forums behind, and stick with this one - a bright light.

I hooked a Canada Goose this morning.
I've only ever had them tap braided line at night. Really annoying.

Rod, Reel and Tackle Availability
I expect it will be a little better than last year, but not like it's been in the past. From what I've seen with other products, it's best to have 2-3 sources for the regular stuff. That way if one is out, another might have it.

Baby bull shad users....
SC Avid AVC70MM and 10# Tatsu.

Geese, very deadly.

Cashion flipping stick.
I can and often do pitch cast with every rod I own, including the spinning rods. No need to buy a special rod for it. Just go out and pitch.
