Dropoffs - swimbaits?
Yes. Just cram a handful of toothpicks in your box. They have 1001 uses. This is one. Just pierce the bait at the hook bend after threading it on the hook. Break off the ends. When you're done with them, you can toss them in the lake. They're just wood.

It wouldn't be a story. I know most of those guys by first name anyway.

Casting distance, MH spinning rod
1/4 oz. is on the light side for a MH power stick. Your post says 2# braid. Do you mean 20# braid? That should be fine. How does it cast with baits 3/8 oz and up?

Dropoffs - swimbaits?
It keeps it from sliding off the hook on the cast.

Weighted hooks are DEFINITELY illegal on any waters that contain trout up here. Apparently, California is not as strict as NY, lol. It's funny, I made this post years ago about my new bed bait: Anyway, here is a combo I left in the drink. In one week it was loaded with baby zebra mussels inside.

For the Bank fisherman: What "pushes" your buttons while fishing?
I don't care if you smoke outside or not. It's a statement of fact is all. Think of it like someone is grilling in the neighborhood. It's the opposite of that.

When good Gulp goes bad
Drop Shot Leeches and minnows for smallmouth. I'll downsize the hooks for jack perch in fall.

Snagging. People used them when the salmon were running, but it’s illegal now.

Ive be been in a few Stratos. There’s nothing unique about buying one opposed to another quality 20 yo boat. They are a great hull.

Alternate Uni to Uni
I wish he wouldn't call that a "double uni knot" in the video. That is not a double uni knot. It's not even a back to back uni knot. It's back to back clinch (not even improved) knots. Since I do not have much faith in a back to back uni knot as a braid to leader connection, this knot is right out. To me, a double uni knot is a terminal uni knot with the line doubled up. Some guys that flip heavy cover use this knot. I don't, it's too bulky, and leaves a mess of tag ends. For connection knots, an Alberto always serves me well. With lighter lines, I've used a triple surgeons. Blood knots are fine too, but they are too fussy for my fingers to tie easily.

Been a week, not a single bite.
I don't think the issue is tackle, seems like location is the main thing. You have to find a place that has feeding fish. River environments are very dynamic, so you might want to scope out some other sites, and build a milk run of shore spots. There's no shortage of water or parks near Montreal, so it should take a little work looking at maps, and see what's accessible and close to you.

Retrieve Pole
I've retrieved a couple set ups this way, using a way point. I was less shocked than the dude on shore was when I told him I lost it the week before. I used a 10/0 treble with an ounce of lead molded in the center. Basically what is called a "Michigan Cricket."

10# mono on baitcaster.
Works great with smaller cranks, though I prefer a M-MF.

Okay, that helps. You're gonna hear a lot of, "don't buy a boat with 20 years of issues" advice. I think you know the caveats, buying used so I'll spare you. Do the obvious stuff: compression check documented, inspection by your mechanic, and a lengthy on the water test where you test every single function while in the water. In the water is important. You're looking for any hull damage or rot, weird handling on plane, any mechanical issues with the motor, steering, or throttle, and any issues with the switch gear. Livewell/plumbing issues are usually not too hard to fix, but sometimes difficult to locate. Last thing check the trailer, bearings and lights. Lights are an easy replace, but it's a bargaining chip. I've had a few used boats, one that was almost 30 years old. Aside from crummy gel coat on the top cap, it ran like the Millenium Falcon. Good luck, and post in the Show My Ride thread if you pick it up.- What is the best solution for a rod holder on a lawn chair/camping chair?
There’s rail mount rod holder from RAM and Scotty that are easy to find, but you’ll probably have to do the homework. Instead of mounting the rod holder to a rail on a boat, you’re mounting it to a chair. - Bass Boat Advice
