  1. Essential crossing only. I'd say DD bass are essential.
  2. I'd delete the jerkbait, and sub a spinnerbait, but it's a yes to all of those, most places I fish.

There aren't any shortcomings using fluoro, only gains that using a better line bring. Fluoro won't drag a buzzbait under. If it does, the bait is flawed. As far as being expensive, it outlasts mono by years, and if I can throw a buzzbait on the same rig I throw a spinnerbait, then I save on the rod and reel.
  4. You only need to say the word "president" and it will become political, whether you like it or not. So, don't.
  5. What's the status on travel to Mexico? Sorry to be a Debbie-Downer. I'm genuinely curious.
  6. Those are cool. I have a few TD-X and a TD-Z versions, and still use them. Being able to flip that switch with your palming hand without turning the handle is an advantage for righty casters.

I use 15#Invisx without any issue. I only throw Cavitrons.
  8. I been there once. Don't recall much. It was one stop on a shore fishing marathon with some buddies. It's been a couple years, but is this even enforced or posted anywhere?
  9. LMAO, GoodRx found the best "deal" for my insulin. $480 a vial.
  10. And yet, it's noticeable, if you use both side by side. Weird, huh? Thanks for the trivia, though!
  11. Look at diameters of different 10# line compared to Tatsu. Also, experience has shown me that 10# doesn’t cut it for me with x deep cranking. When I crank deep, I’m not just hauling water.
  12. Let's hope so
  13. You willing to hold that bait in your hand, while someone does a mediocre hook set with 50 yards of line out? I'm not. It will all feel the same when you have a fish in the boat for a grip and grin.
  14. I never climbed under the chain link fence before it was a public park, lol. There's fish in there. It's really shallow. They dug out new sections less than a decade ago, so maybe it's had time. Ponds are like aces up your sleeve. Good to have a few when you go out on a shore hop.
  15. Spencerport wide waters (basically a dredge dumping area) is excellent mid summer, IF YOU CAN GET OFF SHORE. I occasionally get out there with my kayak. Smallies are plentiful if you work the rock piles with lipless baits. you can find walleye in the deeper, main channel of the canal. Prespawn, and spawn, you can walk Lyell with a rod and reel, and a bag of senkos, and clean house on both green and brown bass. These are from Spencerport:
  16. My copay for insulin has gone up six fold what it was just four years ago. There's no generic.
  17. Newark Res? That's the only thing close to Port Gibson I can think of. If so, snappers. Also the bubbles are a dead giveaway. Boat fishing is tough at those wide waters, some days in the heat. I'd be covering ground and water with a horizontal bait like a spinnerbait.
  18. I use Tatsu, so I go with 12# for x-deep stuff. All my other cranking setups have 10#.
  19. This cat (he's passed away at 19 a little over a year ago) eventually starts attacking the rod, and then me, if I keep it up. My son's cat now, cuts to the chase when playing with toys, and just attacks your head. I'm glad fish don't make this leap in logic, lol.
  20. None for me. I start the cast slow, and pick up speed as I raise the tip. Stay focused on the bait. You’re generating centrifugal force to propel the bait. The tip of the rod is a fulcrum.
  21. The difference we’re talking about is in how 1000 yd bulk spools are wound. There has been no change in the formula. My 200 yd filler spools from recent buys are the same as they’ve been for years. I don’t have any 20, but I have tons of 10, 12, and 15.
  22. That's an awesome all purpose rod for kayak bassin'. I have one, and love it. I'm using a slightly slower reel, but a 7:1 willwork fine. 12-15# fluoro or copolymer would be your best all purpose bet for that rig.
  23. It sounds like you are combining the pitch with the flip casts. This shows a cast I call the flip-punch. It also has true flips, and some pitches at the end. There's no slack in a pitch, but the spool is disengaged. In a flip, the spool stays engaged, but there is slack that you pull out with your opposite hand. A pitch has some distance, usually more than the rod length. A flip is a little more than the rod length. I often use a flip if I'm pitch, and suddenly see a target close by that doesn't require a pitch. if it's really sloppy, I'll do a flip-punch. It all becomes automatic.
  24. Two years, and not a single substantiated claim of "counterfeit" line. Seems like you're okay.
