Sat In My First "Sparkly" Boat Last Weekend...
There's plenty of dual purpose boats that resemble "bass boats" in many ways. The boats im looking at are just comfortable picking apart a dock on a lake and can run to the Bahamas on a calm day as well. You might look into skiffs, bay boats, and hybrids before settling on a particular bass boat.

My Nemesis, RUST!
I have no issues with the Plano boxes with all the little air flow holes. My waterproof Edge boxes get fresh rust inhibitors every fall. The Zerust boxes work for about a season before that feature runs out.

Big "Adrians" are definitely on the menu. Clean, prespawn fish from cool water are delish.

Those reels are part of drop shot set ups and I don't need the spool to full to the lip for vertical drops. It makes no sense to me to discard perfectly good line and refill. I've refilled those reels two seasons ago or so. They'll be fine this spring.

I 100% agree. For some reason, especially smallmouth, fish seem activated during these hatches, not turned off at all. My guess is there is also a ton of baitfish activity and they are focused on eating anything within striking distance while the buffet is open.- Egg$!
When there's deals like that, we all pretend we don't know each other at the checkout.- Catching big fish: Luck or Skill?

My wife just got back from Wegmans. 7.19 for 18 XL brown eggs from EB. Full cooler of them.- Egg$!
Those are England's Best too. It's only a matter of time before it hits us. We go through around an 18 pack a week. Formers market eggs may be the way to go, but they're really expensive there already.- How many lures catch 80% of your bass?
Of the baits I regularly carry. It's got to be close to 80%. Not all the baits all the time, but it averages out over the season. I'm pretty basic.- Egg$!

Four score and 11 years ago…- My buddy is trying to argue that catch and release & the assumed overpopulation this causes is negatively impacting the number of big fish caught more than delayed mortality and fishing pressure

I have these two aluminum racks that slip under the rear hatches that hold four rods perpendicular to the boat centerline. They propbably aren't available anymore, but you could fab something up.- Bass Boating 101 - Resources
Something was vastly improved within the past few updates in the speed and relevance of the search here. It is really good. I don't usually have to get into the search options either. And it isn't limited to just the forums either. I hate doing searches on Google since keywords end up influencing the ads I see. Last week I typed in "I don't have a cat" and lo and behold, no more robot litter box ads! OP, get up to the videos and search in there. There is plenty to eat up a couple evenings watching bass boat basics vids.- If you don't fish tournaments, why not?
The only tournaments I fish anymore are team format, opens that are best 5 combined, and live weigh in.- Do you still have OG reels in your rotation?

The drag was slightly improved. And the drag star was some composite, plastic material. I had many of both. Paid far less than retail for them all, and they all worked great. Probably should have held on to them. - Catching big fish: Luck or Skill?
