  1. I've always lived right on the lake, so we don't usually see the snow that we see on the route 90 corridor which is a half hour south. The one I recall was getting around four feet in early November in 2019. There was another one around '94 that literally shut everything down for over a week. Then we have the ice storm of '91 and one I remember being very little around '75 in April. All the rest are the usual waking up to another foot of snow on the car and nothing is closed and you go about your day. I don't even shovel unless my 78 yo MIL is coming over, lol.
  2. Data migration can be brutal, especially if you have to populate across AZs. Good Luck!
  3. We had less than 18" so it isn't pic worthy. But, we're going below 0 tomorrow, so there's that.
  4. You need two rods tied to the same jig to get the perfect side to side action. You'll want to get two of those reels with a twitching bar and hold one in each hand. Be sure to use sharp hooks to get a good hookup ratio with one handed hooksets.
  5. I like CDs for the convenience and not having to dig in on an app to stream something I already have. I've also run into a deal where the streaming service changes the versions songs, or the artists are not on the service, or things are totally different. A couple examples are the UK and US versions of Three Sides Live where all the studio selections are missing and Cinematic Orchestras Man With. A Movie Camera Soundtrack being a different version altogether. Bottom line, if something ever happens to the service, I still have all my vinyl and CDs.
  6. All rods are tip heavy with a bait (or even better, a fish) on the end of the line.
  7. It's in his name.
  8. I thought I saw conversions for adding a kill switch that were less than $50. A tiller feels even more important to have and use one.
  9. Not wearing a PFD also puts rescue/recovery personnel in danger. Still curious about my earlier question. Many boats bigger than 20' are equipped with this.
  10. Is there any verbiage for "man overboard" wireless kill switches?
  11. I can't remember who it was, but I got the tip here. On the tag end, slide a 1 oz bullet on the point down and tie a small split ring to stop it. That will pull your bait down through the cover. I don't don't usually cast much farther than a pitch cast. Maybe 30' tops.
  12. I do it all the time using a bubba shot rig.
  13. Gettin' loopy for loop knots in here!
  14. I'm not a huge fan of gospel, but my wife sings in a gospel choir and sometimes I fill in on drums. It's a ton of fun to play and reminds me a bit of big band in the way the section hits and turns are so syncopated. You have to keep your head on a swivel and listen to the keys to know when to push and pull.
  15. A good duo loc snap makes for the best loop knot for me. Tie that on with a Palomar and be safe.
  16. My friend Burnie stuck a 9.72 on El Salto last week, and had huge numbers most days.
  17. You have to in order to get bites.
  18. I just watched five minutes of a "shootout" from the thread title channel. While I couldn't watch any more than that (I wanted to stab my eardrums with chopsticks, then watch paint dry while also keeping an eye on water boiling), I found the comments HIGHLY entertaining. One of my favorites referred to the sensitivity of the reel for feeling bites. I can't make this stuff up.
  19. It's not entertaining to me. I generally get my fishing entertainment from…actually fishing.
  20. Every time I get on the internet...
  21. I still use my Little Cleo's with the bare chested lady on the back.
  22. As a data guy, I like that graph. It is even better now.
  23. 20 years ago the yen was weak and the JDM craze was thriving. I think I paid like $200 for an Alphas Ito.
