  1. I would be a little distrustful of the advice. Gear oil is a lot cheaper than a lower unit.
  2. That's awesome!
  3. It's like arguing politics when you face someone that doesn't get the concept, lol.
  4. Quite so. Depends on where you're at, though. New, with financing might be a better option.
  5. Could be an allergy, though my GF can drink beer, but can't touch reds without a classic allergic reaction - red ears, swollen lips, rash.
  6. Four strokes do not need "fogging" because pretty much all the moving parts are already coated with crankcase oil.
  7. It's nothing now. Isn't made anymore.
  8. Waterproof boxes are great at trapping moisture and promoting rust. The only thing they're good for is keeping something dry that you'll never or rarely have to open up, but will be exposed to water. For baits, air flow is important to avoid rust. The best are the perforated boxes from Plano.
  9. This. Run it, and make sure your water pressure line to the gauge is empty, and dump the lower unit, and replace with new gear lube. Yes, the only way to check is to flush and refill the LU. Fail to do this, and you'll hose your LU. Ask me how I know.
  10. This is my friend's company - known him since the 3rd grade, and we still fish together. His starter packages use a slower action rod that aids in learning to cast. It's all quality gear that I've used and would recommend. If you have ANY questions, call them! Heidi and Eric will help you with anything you need. http://www.wildwaterflyfishing.com/complete-5-6-starter-package-for-panfish-and-bass-with-pultz-poppers/
  11. Growing boating on Lake Ontario, I've seen similar conditions getting through the outlet from the bay to the lake. So long as it's just "rollers" in the big water, it's fine. Just be careful.
  12. Or immediately release them. This rarely poses a problem.
  13. For general purposes, I use Shimano Bantam Oil, and either Cal's or Shimano star grease. If I need a lighter grease, I Cal's Purple Light grease. This is for any brand reel.
  14. I would NOT go out with a flat bottom boat in four footers. And I'm nuts.
  15. This is probably your best bet. You can also probably find a package deal with a serviceable paddle, and a good PFD, along with other accessories.
  16. During spring, rockies will bite your trolling motor, lol. Adrienne!
  17. I've been in one - really cool boat!
  18. What a transformation!
  19. I thought I had deja vu!
  20. Click "After Rebate."
  21. A big front deck is great. I can have two adults and two kids up front on my Bullet 21XDC (21'10"). I don't recommend toddlers at that stage where you have to chase them around telling them not to touch this or that stage in a boat. Usually around 2-3 yo, and they listen well, and understand the safety aspect. Don't expect to ANY fishing with kids on board, until they are at least 8 yo or so.
  22. My condolences.
