  1. You can get a heck of a rod for $100. A reel, not so much.
  2. Ye Olde 4 Speed… remember when you had to push down and left then up to find reverse?
  3. What do you mean "mono"? They don't make a nylon mono. All their lines are copolymer, fluoro, fluoro coated, or braid.
  4. Adam, if you seal up a brand new rod, it WILL get grimy. The difference is the bits of wood filler don't fall out and the handles don't rot. Insight have a pick of my sealed and I cleaned Avid at around three years old. I'll look.
  5. A guy in my club has a mid 2000s 18' with a 150 opti. It's a pretty fast boat, with a good ride. Only complaint he had was the upholstery didn't hold up well.
  6. Ummm, yeah that's all nice how they're made. What I stated was they both handled similarly. You don't like one, you'll probably not like the other. I used my own experience to get at this opinion, not website marketing.
  7. CXX and YZ Hybrid are pretty similar handling lined. If you don't luke one, I think you'll be disappointed on the other.
  8. Hybrid cable or electric steer trolling motor.
  9. My auto downshifts…automatically, lol. Good luck finding anything above a compact truck with a stick. No one makes them anymore.
  10. Be careful what you wish for...
  11. Sam, my uncle runs the restaurant, and does his own plowing. My family learned a long time ago that it's less money and more reliable to plow our own lots, rather than rely on a contracted service. Each restaurant has a truck with a plow. My 85 year old grandfather does the second restaurant, a few miles east. He's the man - still cooks six days a week, and plows in winter.
  12. The tag, or dropper can be 6" to 4' for me, though around 15" seems to be the magic number to keep the gobies off, so that's usually my starting point.
  13. Seems like just a few years ago I was saying something about the banks being over my head when I was kid. Then for years, not so much. The past few years though… it's back to like it was when I was s kid.

Who's got the worst in this latest blast of winter? We've had a couple feet last week and another foot or so today. This is my uncle on the local news, he's about a mile from me. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152814882079215
  15. There's a part two to the question, or a statement rather. I'll ask the OP what he thinks is a better bait when they aren't chasing moving baits, or are deeper than 20'. And Felix, Rich Zaleski has written about using droppers as long as his 18' boat. Why? Because he marked bait 18' off the bottom, lol. I guess he doesn't cast it, just drops it over the side.
  16. I'll add buying a second car to my list of why a 3/4 ton is the better deal.
  17. It depends on the rod rating. I've used any thing from 6# to 30# for plastic worms. I like Tatsu as s general fluoro. If that's too pricey, Invisx is a close second.
  18. Starts at around the length of the rod. When it gets below 18" or so, I retie.
  19. Try Suffolk County Bassmasters.
  20. Robert, ever have "hot sauce"? It's not Red Hot, though that is in it. More like a Cincinnati chili sauce. That's what we put on our burgers to stay warm.
  21. The funny part is I get all the free cheeseburgers I want. This is my family's business. http://www.charliesrestaurants.com
  22. Yeah, haven't had any since last week. I'm due.
  23. I am, Type 1 'beetus. HbA1C is around 6, cholesterol is 125. All a bag of chips means to me is a bigger dose of insulin from the pump.
