  1. I don't keep up with it. When I get home, I change the dull ones out to a new hook. Old hooks go in a box. I don't know why I keep them, lol.
  2. I guarantee you won't even have your hook box out of storage before I'm already stuffing the hone back in my pocket and getting ready to make another cast.
  3. Glad you used quotes around the word boxing, lol. Looks like fun.
  4. Air bubbles was my first thought.
  5. I'm gonna assume those parts are painted, and you want to keep them that way, right? Acetone batch for bearings and sometimes badly gunked, unfinished metal parts. Everything else, Dawn dish soap and/or Perfect Solution.
  6. If you're using a tip-up, there isn't a rod and reel. The only way to bring them in is hand over hand.
  7. I don't know, I just put an Owner ST-41 that was close in size on mine. 1/0, maybe?
  8. LOL, a picture of the missus shaking her finger at you right on the front deck!
  9. We trade them for meals at the local Chinese take out place.
  10. My oldest rod in my starting lineup is one of my favorites, a pre IPC prototype Avid, 6'2" M/XF that's gotta be close to 15 years old. It's been rebuilt by the factory, with better guides, and a new rel seat and rear cork.
  11. I just bring it all. Works for me... There's around a dozen Plano boxes, half dozen rods, and three double speedbags full of plastics.
  12. Yes, a single hook that SHOULD be changed before throwing this bait. I actually prefer this as a 2nd bait, that I dead stick while fishing something else. It's especially good when you are slowly moving along an area.
  13. Simply, do not leave them anywhere they can be stolen. Out of sight, locked up is best. Lastly, talk to your insurance agent about theft coverage.
  14. I always thought Immodium AD would be a great sponsor.
  15. My Mini Slammer is jointed? It's a little over 4" long, but with the worm tail, over 9", though I wouldn't classify it as a "big bait" at all.
  16. If your a member here, like the site, and want to share this site with others, then wear the the shirt. I probably make more connections wearing a tasteful button down shirt with our logo than any tournament. Spread the word.
  17. The seals are a pain to replace properly. Removing shields generally permanently damages them, and possibly the bearing cage. I prefer shielded bearings.
  18. Good call FW. Hadn't thought of that one in a while. That'll keep it from slipping for sure, but don't keep trying to duplicate that slippage.
  19. I leave shields in. Seals get tossed.
  20. Nothing to fix, they are designed to do that. It's a fail safe for the main gear. Nothing in a normal fishing situation will ever duplicate that. Other reel brands will do the same thing. One thing, do it too much, and you'll wear the engagement slots in the pinion.
  21. Take care of yourself, and know we're pulling for ya!
  22. In the middle of a hot bite, with a crank tied on, I'm reaching for the file if I feel a dull point, not the split ring pliers....just saying.
  23. Those TD-Xs are sweet reels!
