New Swimbait Reel
If you're asking if a more expensive reel will cast an expensive bait better, then no. If your asking about a slightly more refined retrieve and fancy or more durable components, then maybe. Otherwise, you basically picked the perfect reel to begin with.

New Swimbait Reel
I'd get that Cardiff tuned up by a pro. Ask Speedbead about his... You probably won't need any bearings, but a Carbontex drag and a good bearing soak will bring that reel to life. That said, if you want a new reel, my choice would be for a Calcutta B or Daiwa Luna, since I prefer round reels. If you go new, I still recommend at least flushing the bearings and installing Carbontex drags.

Also, much more cerebral humor than DD, lol.

Wacky Hooks - Weighted - Weedless - Regular
I'd really rather a longer shank, and a ball head. I guess my preference would be a mold and hook to make the Zappu jigs.

Duck Dynasty
Gilligan's Island only ran for three seasons, which might be close to 100, but not quite, and that has to be one of the biggest syndication successes.

Bass Resource Made Me Do It
Not so much the site itself, but the people here, and their shared success got me into: A boat. Learning WAY too many knots. Meeting strangers at the ramp. Accumulating WAY too many rods and reels. Just kidding...a few things I might have learned myself, but this place made it easier: Swimbaits Hand tied jigs JJ's Magic and Megastrike on just about everything Getting back to cranks

Skirts Unlimited At Tw Question.
It's tabs.

Ask the seller for a recent documented cylinder compression test as part of the terms of sale. Pretty common stipulation for used boat sales.

Wacky Hooks - Weighted - Weedless - Regular
We pour our own with the Do-it wacky jig mold. It uses the Mustad hooks, and my big issue is with the hook points rolling. Since they are so inexpensive to make, I just keep checking them and retying when the tip gets rolled. You will miss fish with a rolled point. It's worse than a dull point, for sure. I wish we had the means to modify the mold for a better hook.

Why Does A Frog Have To Float?
All hollow body frogs, rats, and mice type lures float. It's the one bait that will work in the thickest of slop. There are also solid plastic frogs or sometimes called toads. Some float, most slowly sink. They are generally buzzed across the surface, but can be paused, and allowed to slowly sink. This is especially effective after a missed strike.

Servicing And Cleaning Your Reels
In the future, it's MUCH easier and quicker to just call Toby in parts at Daiwa. He'll get you squared away pronto. 800-736-4653

Always get it checked out by someone that knows what they're looking at. There's just some misconception about "wood" in boats. Our '62 Penn Yan was completely constructed of wood. Aside form a coat of paint and shelack every three years, that thing was a tank. Can't say the same for some even ten year old "fiberglass" boats. It's all in the initial construction and care by the owner. Those 201s were cool hulls. I think that's a Bubba (Stroker) designed hull, if I'm not mistaken.

Refreshing Customer Service
Saint Croix, Daiwa, Shimano, Pure Fishing, Hawgtech, Siebert Outdoors, Pinnacle, Megastrike, G. Loomis, Bullet Boats, and West Marine are all companies I've had good CS experiences with. Most were for product questions and support, but some were for defects, some were for product selection, others were for replacement plans. It's a given that companies stand behind their product. I don't find that simple replacement of broken/defective product enough to constitute good CS. I also want support after the sale. The companies I named all have provided that support, in addition to providing the bare minimum of standing behing their product.

Red Hooks?????
All I know is they do not last as long as a standard nickel plated hook. I don't use them.

I wouldn't be so put off by this Blazer. Blazer, Bullet, Gambler, Allison, Stroker, are not sprayed in hulls. They are hand laid. I have a nearly 20 year old Bullet. Yes, it has wood stringer and transom, Balsa wood in fact. This boat is more solid than many lesser boats of the era. Blazers use a very similar hull to Bullet. I'd be checking the hull for any UV crazing or damage. This type of hand made (not chop gun) performance boat is one case where the hull can out last the motor. Take it to a mechanic and a fiberglass repair shop for evaluation, and make your decision from there.

I'm guessing the show will be worth a mint in syndication.

Finished Upgrading My Curado 50E
You shouldn't ever feel it "engage." That would mean your AR bearing failed.

Me too. However, the 1st Amendment does not guarantee you keep your job after making public comment. It merely protects your right to free speech within certain bounds, without government retribution. A&E can do whatever it wants to ensure ratings....which is what I think this is all about. We need to be VERY careful here. I'm leaving this open, but I doubt we can keep things non religious or political. I personally see it as a ratings game. The #1 show is slipping, so bring out the controversy. Works EVERY time.
