  1. It can get a little thick on a cold day. But not so bad it's ever blocked up on me.
  2. Why anyone would use a picture to prove how big their fish is, is beyond me. I use a ruler and a scale. If you don't like my pics, too bad. I took them to show off the fish, not prove anything. It takes a little bit to ruin a great picture with the wrong pose: Wrong: Right: Why anyone would intentionally make their fish look smaller is pretty funny, if you ask me. If you're after proof of how much the fish actually weighed, or how long it is, get a scale and a ruler. Take a picture of that, if you must. Though scales make pretty boring subjects. Same with rulers. Mr. Pike has perspective.
  3. So you're so sick of it you started another thread? No one's bashing anyone.
  4. LOL, I just posted that to demonstrate the math and the format that would work well for this contest. I intend to do MUCH better than 42%.
  5. That isn't true. The Potamac has bowfin. Or, had.... http://www.serc.si.edu/labs/marine_invasions/databases/daily_invader_archives_cbfishes.aspx
  6. You gonna burn my country music award, Farva? Nice wax job, rookie. Does that look like spit to you? You boys like Mexico? That little guy? Don't worry about that little guy.
  7. That is a male in full spawning dress. My experience has been that the are like a light switch. They sometimes attack anything in the vicinity, or completely ignore anything thrown at them. Your best bet is backwater swamp areas during mid spring.
  8. I'd be more concerned about bowfin population than bass. Snakehead and bowfin occupy the same niche.
  9. Not a big fan of it, overly dramatic and sensationalistic. Larry Dahlberg has caught most of the fish River Monsters details, and it's much more entertaining.
  10. Boats can get addicting. I haven't had my Bullet for a year yet, barely have around 20 hours seat time, and I'm already thinking of flipping it (and the Xpress) for a Gambler or maybe a Stroker. Love it though, but always looking up.
  11. Replacng the description of a raped and beaten 7 year old with a snakehead is hardly humorous, or in good taste. Let's leave that path of discussion, now.
  12. You can get it from Flooger directly: http://www.pfluegerfishing.com/Reel-Parts/reel-parts,default,pg.html
  13. This is a blue gill pond. Al the bass are like that, big mouths, tall bodies. They do not work hard for their food, just sit around, and gulp a blue gill if it swims by.
  14. I agree, if the weather conditions are indeed as you observed. As far as baseball goes, blocking the plate, hard slides into second, decoying the runner, are all parts of the game. Charging the mound is not.
  15. I think the OP is saying the TD jumped the gun on the delay. Forecasted weather, and actual conditions are two completely different animals, as we all know. I don't think BASS is getting soft, to the contrary, some of those waters plain sucked for tournament days. Seems just like baseball when they call events for weather, no rhyme or reason.
  16. All opinions are welcome. Discussion is what learning is all about. As long as there are no personal attacks, and it's healthy debate, it's fair game.
  17. Bummer, I'm at work, myself. Don't tell the boss!
  18. One more tip, keep a spinning rod, with a wacky rigged senko at the ready. And I mean ready to cast. Any misses on a jerkbait or spook type topwater, and immediatel set the rod down, and cast the senko to the exact spot of the miss. Don't even waste time reeling in the other bait, unless you're in a tournament, and can only have one line out at a time. This will usually seal the deal with "bait slappers."
  19. You shouldn't have to set the hook at all, just reel, and sweep the rod into pressuring the fish.
  20. Then why are you online?
  21. WOW! That's a nice way to bring that boat back to life! Nice work, now get her slimed up! ...... Here's a nice shot of my rig, in the evening sun:
  22. Lightening is a deal breaker.
  23. It's not a contender, but it's a start. I'll post up as I catch bigger fish. 4-12 LMB, Tuesday, April 16, Local Pond (4*16) + 12 = 76 oz. NY state record LMB: 11-4 (11*16) + 4 = 180 oz. 76 / 180 * 100 = 42.22% I got some work to do.... Pics:
