New Shimano Reels Question
I have three CI4 2500s. All have been upgraded to Carbontex Drags from Smooth Drags. I run them dry, since I sometimes operate in freezing conditions. Great reels, light and capable.

9/11 Boat Rescue
I don't really care for all the documentaries about this day, but this is by far one of the more interesting stories from that day. Half a million people rescued from Manhattan by boat. In less than nine hours. Completely ad hoc. Amazing.

I have one of those Have-A-Heart traps. Once I catch one, I drop it in a bucket of water. I hope that peanut is laced with strychnine.

Owner Jig-Rig?
Depends on the matted vegetation. Most often the weeds are just at the surface, and you just need to poke through. In milfoil beds up here, it works great.

Screw On Reel Is Too Tight!
No freezing, no hammer, no solvent.... Apply a bit of heat from a soldering iron to the head of the screw, and use a long shaft #0 Phillips head screw driver.

Bass Wouldn't Commit To My Swimbait
The reason so many people downsize is that they are often rewarded by catching a fish. Most often, it's a smaller, more aggressive fish, not the slob you're after.

Lake Erie.

Drop Shot Rod Question?
Your issue with breaking tips has zero to do with taper, and everything to do with improper drag settings.

Drop Shot Rod Question?
You don't HAVE to use a XF. Some guys even prefer a slower, parabolic bend in their drop shot rigs.
