  1. I think it's just dovetailed in with hunting season.
  2. I fish it for a bit, but if I lose confidence in it, I'll replace it.
  3. 2 K

  4. Shortening a weed guard only makes it stiffer.
  5. Bet you could find some bank to buy out that annuity.
  6. You are looking at your bait at rest. 90% of the time, a "traditional" jig gets bit on the fall.
  7. No, but I've done similar mods with split shot. Looks like a clean alternative, and won't affect hookup on short shank hooks.
  8. It probably has more to do with retrieve speed and depth more than the actual bait. A 3/4 oz. trap has to be retrieved faster to run the same depth as a 1/2 oz. If retrieve them the same speed, the heavier bait will be running deeper.
  9. Big smallies don't always school.
  10. I have a 21' Bullet and an 18' Xpress. I prefer the Xpress for tournament fishing. Everything is close, and easy to get at. The Bullet is fun, and the front deck is huge, but I haven't settled into to it for tourneys.
  11. Stick to Page 1: http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/customer_service0/reel_maintenance_instructions.download.-mainParsys-0001-downloadFile.html/Maintenance%20Tips-%20Baitcasting%20Reels%20%282%20pages%29.pdf
  12. Your license expires after this weekend, so be sure to renew!
  13. 5/0 Owner CPS hooks work for me.
  14. Both my sisters have kids on the spectrum, and getting them situated in a program that works for them can difficult. Not all schools are equipped for this, but it's getting better.
  15. Likewise here. And when they finish early, they get more work. I won't say I haven't had issues with our public schools, mostly overlooking my oldest because he was getting Cs which to them was passing. Not good enough for me, and it took some pressure from my end to get him some attention. They responded, though and he's a B student with a few As peppered in. I'm pleased with them.
  16. Calcutta is a tough reel. Pretty much anything north of $150 is gonna last, with proper maintenance. I'm pretty abusive to gear, and reels that stood up are: zillion, Chronarch/Curado/Citica e series, Sol, TD-X, Calcutta B, and the gold Accurist.
  17. Ride would be ideal in a tight quaters of a creek. Milk crates work great. You can zip tie vertical rod holders to them as well.
  18. Shallow, I use a pole through the scupper. Deep, a light grappling anchor in rocks, and a nave style in all else.
  19. Start with a couple rod holders, and add as you go. Look up my bud Luther's Yakattack Gear as well. Lots of attachment options, and he's a true "inventor/genius."
  20. I run a few different boats. I work part time guiding and selling boats. My current boat is a Prowler Big Game. A Ride 115 will be my next, having spent significant time in one.
  21. At least she didn't write Greta Job! lol. Doug, I'd have done the same as you. I'm thinking my ex wife would have beat me to the punch, though. That woman lies in wait for mistakes like this.
  22. You'll have no problem standing in it, once you gain confidence in it's secondary stability. There's a bunch of kayak bassin' videos you might want to check out on youtube that feature this boat. Chad Hoover put them together, and he's standing in one. He's not a small man, either.
  23. Anyway. the OP is about a pre-k "teacher." I'm not sure what training they need, if any at all, beyond the basic daycare provider and emergency certs. Not saying there aren't great pre-K teachers - my sons both went to some great pre-K schools, but I paid for them.
  24. I think you have to examine what is available to you, and your personal situation. There is no access to any decent home schooling to me. Public schools are the best option. But that's my situation. I live in a state that cares about education.
  25. I think it's just a story to justify home schooling, which I don't have a problem with, so long as the home schooler is an accredited educator. If it is true, it has to have been taken out of context, or misunderstood. It certainly isn't the norm.
