Ok guys, I'm just lOoking for feedback from anglers who fish A LOT on which reel will be the most durable. If possible, I fish everyday, and I need a reel that will stand up to hard fishing. I was thinking a chronarch 200E, Abu S, pfleuger patriarch, citica E, or bass pro qualifier would all be good options, but I'm definitely open to all other opinions.

If you're willing to go up to $200 get the Chronarch. I have 2 Citcas and 1 Curado which I like very much. I can only imagine what the Chronarch is like. Plus Shimano has a rep for making long lasting reels. Not sure if the new Lews reels will be the most durable, but I think they would definitely be worth a look too.

Preston I have had great success with the PQ reels. At $80 on sale they are a fine value on a quality reel IMO. Goose52 has a five year PQ study on-going and his results have been impressive. If I were going to spend $200 on a new reel the Chronarch would be my choice. If durability were the only criterion a Calcutta would be my pick.

Calcutta is a tough reel. Pretty much anything north of $150 is gonna last, with proper maintenance. I'm pretty abusive to gear, and reels that stood up are: zillion, Chronarch/Curado/Citica e series, Sol, TD-X, Calcutta B, and the gold Accurist.

Not sure your max price but one reel off the top of my head would be a zillion. Built like a tank and performs beautifully

abu c-3 or c4 4600.. they become a family heirloom

If you want a reel that will last a lifetime you gotta go round. I really like my curado e, but would bet that my old abu round reel will still outlast it. They are built like tanks

I have a 12 year old CTE200GT, an 8 year old and a 5-6 year old CTE100GT.

These reels are MUCH nicer than brand new! The oldest reel was bought for

striper fishing which involves hundreds of pounds of fish and thousands of tons

of rocks. Unless this reel is lost, it will literally last forever.

Strong, smooth, silent and reliant.

Of the reels you have listed I have used the Curado E (Chronarch), Citica and Revo. You can't go wrong with any of them. To be fair I did add a BB to the driveshaft on my Citica and a Curado E handle. I've never had a Revo issue, been using them since 2007 so they are the older models. If your baits are north of about 3/8 ounce the C3/C4/C5 ABU would be a good reel. They are like the small block Chevrolet of the reel world, you can do whatever you want to them.

Judging by the OP's response on a PQ, I think 'budget durability' is more on his mind that 'durable'. that being said, the PQ or used Citica E

Shimano Calcutta hands down, it's the M1 Abrams of the fishing world. I have a few that are over 8 years old that are still doing work.

The cronarch is the best reel of all of those.

To the OP what is most important durability, smoothness, casting etc. When u say durable how long of a life are u looking for?

pflueger patriarch.not only will it last inside but the finish will look great long after the others look terrible.

If he buys the Chronarch, there will be question of how long, that would be no worry

Any quality reel (100 or higher) will last just fine with proper maintenance.

Smoothness when reeling, and something that can handle a lot of fishing with spinner baits and cranks would be ideal. Realistically, I would love to have a reel last me for around 5 years, but that being said, I am horrible with reel maintenance (excluding putting Abu oil on the worm gear if that's doing much of anything lol). I can learn if it's semi-simple, but I really am not good when it comes to small parts and putting things back together. Sorry if I'm the only guy like this on here, but any advice would be appreciated. The link J. Franco put up is awesome, but Looks like a foreign language to me!
