  1. I really don't think this really happened. Can you provide some more info? Districts, some stated policy?
  2. I don't see JJ's and Megastrike in the same realm. Yeah, they both stink, but they serve different purposes for different baits. I would not dip a Hardgill in JJ's, but I'll slather it up with Megastrike. I also wouldn't slather Megastrike on my crawfish claws to enhance the color. Megastrike really is an attractant. That JJ's has scent, is a bonus to me. I'd say use them both equally. Going without both in my boat just feels wrong.
  3. They're nice. They just don't turn my screws. I'd rather gamble, and try a Lexa.
  4. Just use google images, and type in the different models.
  5. I'm thinking public schools in SC are a world apart from public school in NY. My kids can spell, read, write, and do math. They are even graded. I didn't have to teach them this.
  6. Exactly. I don't have time to teach speeling. My job is to teach them about life.
  7. One small thing, the 3000 series has a larger knob. Forgot about that. Mine have custom cork knobs.
  8. All you get with the 3000 size reel is 20 extra yards of line capacity. Otherwise it's the exact same reel. How much line do you need? 120 yards is plenty.
  9. Their not taught the same way we we're.
  10. Not so much Power Pro or Sufix, but Berkley Fireline Braid doesn't hold up after a backlash real well.
  11. They should be smooth and silent out of the box.
  12. The 3000 is the same size as the 2500, but with a deeper spool for more line.
  13. A flat sided fighting butt is simply for comfort. It rests nicely under your arm while fishing. It's nice for two handed casts as well.
  14. Two topics were removed due to violating the no self promotion rules in our Forum Rules and FAQ.
  15. I've NEVER cut my line on a painted tungsten weight. Get the good ones, and there'll be no issues.
  16. The knot should be fine. Pickerel or a bad/cracked guide are probably your issue.
  17. Go insert free.
  18. I've had it shipped up here. About $30 a case, but so worth it.
  19. The rod is important, but you must consider the whole system - rod, reel, and line. The bigger spool works better with larger diameter lines. Froggin' generally calls for 50-65# braid, and with a diameter of 12-14# mono, the extra circumference helps manage line better. Throw in five more pounds of max drag, and it's a no brainer. I've set up several people with this alternative to casting gear, and the system works. Anything else bass related, a 2500 is plenty.
  20. I can't imagine needing anything other than 2500 size reel for bass, unless you are looking to set up a spinning rod for frogging.
  21. Where are the fish? In the water, silly!
  22. AAA Minor League Baseball stadium, 24oz. cans are $7. Craft beer is $7 for a pint.
  23. Yep, save up. You won't regret it.
