  1. Tracfone for my son since he was 12. He earns minutes. Since he alternates weeks with his mother and I, it's easier for him to get in touch with either of us on the off week. It's also a great help with pickup times after sports practice.
  2. Big Game is probably your best option in that price range.
  3. 7" Powerworm 10" Powerworm 4"Powerworm 4" Roboworm Straight Tail 4.20 Sweet Beaver Zoom Superfluke Ragetail Craw Ragetail Spacemonkey Gulp! Alive Leech Jackall Crosstail Shad
  4. I hear you loud and clear, Big-O - I share the same theory. Some of the swimbait hooks work, but can be a little bulky or simply don't come without a belly weight. Owner Riggin' Hook comes close, but it's got a weird, compactness to it that doesn't work with anything bigger than a tube (which it was designed for).
  5. That is a speed clip. AKA make you swear a lot and slow you down clip.
  6. I cut them off, and use a #2 or #3 Duo-loc.
  7. I used to troll crankbaits on Lake Ontario for smallies back in the 90s. Catch three fish in a specific area, anchor up and pick the spot apart. Worked real well for us.
  8. The 200 size reels had aluminum stars, but the 50 size had plastic. That's probably where the confusion lies.
  9. Good to hear from you!
  10. At least I didn't set the hook. (null)
  11. I have a Mustang Hyrdrostatic AI model. It has NEVER inflated unintentionally, even in the worst downpour.. In fact it inflated only twice. The first time was when I tested it in my neighbors pool. The second time it actually saved by buddy's life when he turtled a kayak in near freezing water. The OE recharge kit for this model was less than $40.
  12. Speaking of pistol grips...I've often thought about a pistol grip on a flipping stick, but with the butt end of the blank poking through, and fighting butt.
  13. Lol, my buddy, from another kayak. The jig actually landed in his lap.
  14. Get some seat time in Ride 115. It's one of the best all around boats for the money.
  15. I was just digging Not sure what you're looking for exactly, but Saint Croix has a lot of options. Saint Croix Avid has 9 casting models and 21 spinning rods that are 6' 6" or less. I have the AVC62MXF that is perfect for a lot tight quarter presentations - topwaters, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, senkos, does it all. There's a Legend Tournament Walleye LTBC59MXF that you might like, too. I've held it, but not fished it. Cool little rod.
  16. I prefer a stand on top kayak
  17. I usually just skewer a grub to a JSM. If you are looking for a skirted slop spoon, try a Northland Jawbreaker.
  18. Or the market is weeding out the shorter rods. If there was a demand for them, they'd still be in production. One thing to keep in mind, short rods may not be marketed toward bass anglers, so you might be looking in the wrong places.
  19. And....you're not normal.
  20. Nice slobs! Pretty nice bass, too.
  21. OK, I'll qualify that, with a "to normal people" tacked on the end, lol.
  22. Nobody looks good dropping a deuce.
  23. Hemlock and Canadice lakes would be ideal location to launch a small boat like yours. They are limited to 10 hp or less and 17' and under anyway. There other special rules here as well, such as no contact with the water. They are beautiful, but tough sometimes. I generally fish them from my kayak. They are both pretty clear, but have solid weed lines. I generally find fish a little deeper than other, less clear lakes. While electronics aren't a must, they sure help locating deeper weed beds you can't see from the surface, and the first drop off just past those weed lines. Active feeding bass often patrol that break. Jigs, deep cranks, and drop shot plastics are good tools.
  24. Yeah, right....that's a s.....t.....r.....e.....t....c....h.
  25. Uhh, can you say insurance fraud?
