  1. My guess is 3 to 3.5.
  2. I told a good friend about a great spot I take my kids (7 and 9). A few weeks later I was at a BBQ at his house and a couple of his other buddy's invited him to a fish feed and thank him for telling them about the hot spot... : ( Yeah it was "my spot" Oh well, it's a big lake. I wouldn't have cared if they practiced "catch and release", but a fish feed off my spot... boo
  3. Tubes are the best bass producer in my tackle box. I've haven't seen to many threads on tube technique. I like a slow drag with an exposed hook.
  4. We fished all night. I threw everything in my tackle box. Dark brown 3 1/2" tubes, T-tig did good. We also did OK with a 1/4 oz shaky head with a robo worm.
  5. Looks like I will spend the extra money and buy the 70#. Thanks for the help.
  6. I'm thinking about getting a new trolling motor. A 55# will work for my boat, but I'm thinking about a 70#. It's a small open bow ski boat. The only reason for a 70# would be to troll for trout with a down rigger. A 55# will pull my boat about 2.4 mph at full thrust. I need to go 1.8 mph to troll, but the 55# runs out pretty fast at full thrust. I don't want the 70# because of the extra batteries. Currently, I can have a backup battery, but with a 24v system I wouldn't have room for two more backup batteries. And I'm afraid that two batteries on a 24v system won't last as long as two batteries on a 12v system... not sure... What is your best guess: 1. How long can a MK 70# pull my boat at 1.8mph? 2. Do you think I could fish a 12hr day with a 24volt system?
  7. I'm going night fishing Sat. night, and I'm looking for some ideas. It's a swallow lake in Northern California that has springs bringing cold water into the lake. The lake has a lot of cattails, and big large mouth bass. Night fishing at Big Lake, California ~4miles north east of Fall River, CA
  8. It's not side imaging sonar. I have a 717. It's not bad. When I see a bait ball on a point, I'm sure to catch fish. My plan is to mount a second transducer on the trolling motor with the wideside transducer, and use it to search for bait fish. It sounds like a good plan, and I was wondering if anyone has experience with this setup.
  9. I'm think about adding a wideside transducer to my trolling motor. I fish a deep water reservoir and the bass and trout relate to the bait fish (shad). I'm thinking that the wideside sonar will be able to find and track the shad. If you have experience with this system or would like to make a comment, I would appreciate it.
