High School Life
I try to convey to my HS senior daughter that even though HS seems hard and so many things that are going on in her life seems so important, these are the easiest days and nothing that seems to be important now will matter or even be remembered in 20 or even 10 years. Enjoy now and make the right choices.

OLD FART HAIR CUT?
Bald in my mid 20's. Now in early 40's. Love the low (no) maintainance. Don't know if I'd want to have hair again. (my wife might disagree) Friend at work is the same way. Mine is cut close all over with clippers. He goes to the barber to get a flat top. It doesn't work for him. Flat tops only really work when you have at least a decent amount hair on top.

Keeping a bass as a pet?
Thank you LBH for saying the right thing and making people think. It would be like keeping a squirrel in a hampster cage. It can be done but, is that what is best for the animal?

Redskins vs Patriots.
Best defense the Patriots have faced thus far. According to last nights evening news sports report, Washington is the only team in the NFL that Tom Brady has never beat.

How Low can u go?
Convert any car into a low rider and it will look cool. Nothing beats those early 60's Impala's. It's like they were made to low ride.

dual purpose diawa/kistler
I sold it but, in hindsight, probably shouldn't have. I upgraded to Mag TS's. I liked it just fine.

dual purpose diawa/kistler
I have owned the Kistler Graphite Plus (called California Series back then) Jig N Pig Special. (6'10" H fast) I wouldn't consider it a light cover rod unless, you are trying to pull the light cover out of the water. Maybe a little short for a carolina rig rod.

Disheartening
In the big scheme, all of us being bass fisherman is insignificant. What we all are and share in common is that we are all HUMAN. We are flawed. There are always going to be clashes when human interact with humans. Apologize, forgive and then forget. The ability to do that makes us human also. There is a saying in some fabrication fields. Measure twice, cut once. Maybe think twice, post once. This EVERYTHING ELSE board has very recently become one of my favorites to view. How many times can you read the same fishing related topic dozens of times over? This board is guys (and girls) talking about life and such. CONGRATULATIONS on being human!

The death of sportsmanship??? ( not too long)
I would certainly not broad brush all tournament fisherman but, I have alway heard more negative comments regarding them then positive. I've known a few guides who stopped tournament fishing because of some of the things Avid talked about. They would rather guide customers that just want to enjoy themselves fishing and learning. They have all said that once your money is on the line IT IS A DIFFERENT GAME. Some stop enjoying the sport at that stage. I have been on the receiving end in my own boat and with friends of smirks and "under the breath" comments (two of us at over 500lbs combined keep them "under the breath" and not completely out loud) about our boats from the fancy boat guys. We are not tournament fisherman just weekenders. Some grown men act like children no matter how old they are.

Can't accurately cast with spinning reel...why?
Try holding your left hand at the front of the reel. Close your hand and feather it down as you want your bait to slow down.

G Welcome
Still typing with one hand... I think there is a joke in there somewhere ;D

Is Fuji really the I Ching of rod components?
I don't think he is giving a quiz. I think he is asking a question.

G. Loomis, fragile?
Just to touch on one item someone posted, Neither Loomis or St.Croix spine their rods. I called both to confirm when I heard that because I didn't believe it. One of them said that they didn't think it was necessary. They use the natural curve of the graphite to place guides.

answer to bill dance fishing quiz??
I can't remember who said it but, they said that a bass will swim through a school of shad to get to a crawfish. Whether that is meant to be taken literally or not, it spoke to how much a bass would prefer a crawfish. It can depend on what is the main forage on a body of water. All food being available, I'm going with crawfish.

G. Loomis, fragile?
I have owned Gators in the past. They are good rods. I would like to see them (maybe the newer ones have them) with exposed reel seats. Dumas spines them himself. He told me they are built off of St.Croix Premier blanks but, you won't find them to be the same as the Premiers. I know that Ken Penrod and his guides here in Southern Maryland use Gator Rods. Do you know Mike (Pappy) Jones? He is (I think) the Gator rep up in your area.

Feel like stirring up some poopy
I fished with Power Pro 12/50 for a couple of years. Tried Yozuri Hybrid on one reel last year and switched all this year. 12# and 15#. It is amazing how braid would wraps around your tip in a blink.

Castaway Rods
I still own and have owned a few Castaway standard graphites from back in the days that the Kitlers owned them. I have no complaints. I actually really like them though they can be expensive for standard graphite rods.

New Spinning reel.......
You'll get along better here on the forums by not making disparaging comments on any gear. I you don't like something, just say so and leave it at that. A LOT of people here use Shimano spinning reels. Stradics seem to be the benchmark for Shimano. Symetre's are basically non-Japanese made Stradic's. I own a few (2500 series) as do many members (as I have read on many posts) and like them a lot (and so do many who own them).

Call it crazy but whats the best Shoe/Sandle?
Have any of you seen the Bill Dance blooper video where he gets the crankbait hook stuck in his foot? Shoes, always shoes.

What are your GO TO plastics ?
4" Green Pumpkin Mizmo (insert brand here) tube. I once saw an unfocused picture slide of two tubes in someones hand. When they brought the picture into focus, one was a tube, the other a live crawfish.

rowland martin?
At the fishing show I attended this past weekend, Jimmy Houston did about ten minutes of a co,edy routine. He was ten minutes late. He said that he had some problems with the toilet paper roll in the men's room. He said that if some one would invent a toilet paper roll with adjustable breaks on it like a reel, he would endorse it. I thought to myself that he needed to do it quickly before Roland Martin heard about it and beats him to it.

line breakage with flourocabon
I was at the Fishing and Boat Expo in Baltimore this past weekend. Marty Stone gave a seminar on finesse pitching and flipping. He commented that being sponsored by BPS he was risking being fired but, the best flouro out and hot with the pros is Gamma. $30 for a 300 spool. He wasn't the only pro that talked about it. After reading a couple of posted by roadwarrior last year, I tried out Yo-Zuri Hybrid. I'm switching 100% to it this year.
