  6. OOO K, let's try this again. RottManK9 and I met up here in Marshall. It was a little slow, we hiked through some heavy trees, vines, thorny stuff....anyway, Here is the first good bass caught: Yea ! but I think he forgot he was bass fishing !?! Or the catfish didn't know we were bass fishing Black Chartreuse spinner thrown by a log if you want to know the secret.
  7. For me, $. I have learned alot from you all and have wanted to try many different things but don't have alot of cash. Even if it is driving to a different place. Another would be experience using just about any bait for bass fishing, I grew up fishing in stock ponds overloaded with bass and it was more like shooting them in a barrel as they say with a meps black fury spinner (mid S. Dakota) nothing too big though. My failures have led me to success though, weaknesses give us all something to strive to strengthen. Fish ON
  8. Going fishing here soon, anyone have $.02 ? Good,Bad,Ugly?
  9. Although it is spring on your calender, these tecniques should help. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/seasonal.html#winter
  10. MAAAAN !!, I coulda called in sick yesterday, I shoulda, If I had read this sooner I woulda... dang.....
  11. Sorry to quote myself, is there a dead line? I really plan on being there, but my job, if I get work, I will work. If not I will show up if I can if there is a last minute need for a partner.
  12. Give him TIME. In TIME he will get too "old" to ski and will have a boat he can add a depth finder and a trolling motor and maybe a front seat in the middle of the open bow. ?? just my $.02
  13. I do. Sometimes I get to go with my brother in his boat. Alot of the areas I fish only allow electric motors. I learned alot from the articles on BR. Read all of the "fishing tecniques" on bank fishing. They helped me alot. PS see my avitar pic I updated, nice one and some others fishing from the bank at a local lake.
  14. Welcome & Wazz up, I want to fish Binder lake near there.
  15. Fishing in cold, snow, rain, sleet and hail..Oh and wind with stained water after 3 days of rain, and the same lake every day I thought......
  16. Yea, here in Mid MO. I love Van Meter St. park, Fish in Sedallia at Clover Dell, want to try Spring Fork, I like Little Dixie, Mark Twain, Thomas Hill, looking forward to Blind Pony to open back up.....and loz and Truman, all one to two hours away !!
  17. Google this "S. 2766, the Clean Boating Act of 2008" Read up on this, form an oppinion then call your local Sen, Rep's.
  18. I selected some times, but when I do, it's not music, it's (man I'mgonna get basted for this) talk radio.
  19. Um I would have to be a governor or a president to pardon you so I can't help you there But the wind has dictated where I fish from a small lake or pond to keep it at my back so I don't catch alot of fish in the wind because I can't fish techniques I want to use where I want to try them. On the other note. Don't fight your self on whether or not you will go fishing !!!!!!!!!!!! Go. You can be certain that you Will Not catch any if you don't give it a try. Just my 2 cents.
  20. It's a GREAT feeling
  21. If you aren't "poaching" (not the cooking term ) then eat them up (if you trust the water and human polution that may occur). Here in MO the limits vary according to the water, State, City etc. I trust the biologist to keep the populations in check whether it is fish, deer or turkeys. There are some places I wouldn't eat a fish from. I don't like to see some who catch fish (any species) and throw them on the bank to rott.
  22. Your in the same boat I was in (not the one you got ) but I was reading and trying everything I read here because I have the time 'cause my job has been slow through the winter. I fish to get my butt out of the house and can't afford to drive all over to different places to fish (hundreds of choices here) and started to get a little burned out. I fished with a friend on a private lake and he caught a nice 5-6 lb on a little beetle spiner with a white split tail grub and some other fish for a week in a row and I caught 0. The other day, we went out and he was using the same thing he had been using and I just for something to try, I grabed a spinner bait, white red and caught 3 and he was skunked on his own water ?????? You are not doing anything wrong as long as you keep trying
  23. I have a 6.5' med/heavy telescoping rod my daughter bought me for fathers day a few years ago at BPS for $20. It is nothing fancy but I keep it with me everywhere I go in case I get off work early and I drive by many places to fish around here. I packed it in my checked luggage when I flew to Las Vegas this fall it survived. I would simply wrap some soft cloth around it if I wanted to pack it around in a back pack. I like it but I don't know how it would hold up to a lunker wrapped in weeds ??
  24. That was my thought, lead by example. If he sees you release a nice one, he may ask you why then he is the one opening the conversation instead of a confrontation. I agree with the previous post too if it is a pay as you go lake.
