If you are up there the second weekend of April then there should be the last wave of spawners up on beds, 5 fingers is a good area to fish during that time. I believe the black forest starts just below the 147 bridge and is on the west side of the lake, with the water so low it should be easily visible.

Well I was just checking back in after my hiatus, and man am I saddened to learn about Jacks passing. He was a good man and loved to help other people out. He will be missed.

There is no offical take off. You tune in to 105.1 and listen for them to call out the first cast @ 0600. Other than that you can launch from anywhere on the lake, make sure you have life jacket and kill switch on. If you violate any rules you must go into the weigh in site and get cleared by an offical to resume fishing.

I will be fishing all 3 days as well. I would reccomend staying at Harborlight marina.

Here are a few from saturday evening and sunday evening we fished from about 3 till dark. Some are still fat with eggs.

Oh yeah, there is no fish anywhere near white oak, just launch from there and run somewhere else! :-) Jack have you been down to the lake any this week?

Use a good hard side sweep and that should do it, also keep your rod down so they dont come to the surface if possible. A trailer hook is also a great idea.

190,000 acres I doubt it Don't forget about the 1200 miles of shoreline catt. HomeBrewerDude Housen is a great area to fish out of. If you want to base out of Hemphill and fish in there I would suggest launching from Jack 944 boat ramp. Or you could go up old 83 and launch at White Oak to be near the mouth.

People underestimate how hard it is to build a productive brushpile. We use them a lot for Crappie but in Toledo for Bass there is cover everywhere so its not really needed.
