  1. I found Google Earth to be a great tool for locating new fishing places. You can add a placemark on your favorite sites with information such as tidal and species. Around DC, I have marked everything from warm water discharge to flat locations on the Chesapeake for Stripe Bass fly fishing. You can also back up your Google Earth, save as a .kmz file, which keeps your placemarks and share with your friends. When trying to figure where to head out, its nice to pull up and make quick decision.
  2. Last year I saw quite a few guys catching Shad on a fly rod up at fletchers and it looked like a blast. Do you know what kind of flies I need?
  3. Very nice ones!!! April 18th is open season on the Chesapeake for these beauties
  4. Thanks for the welcomes!!! Sam - I liked your thoughts on fishing the bridge pilings using a wacky worm. Sounds like a perfect setup to try on the Potomac bridges.
  5. Caught this monster Mekong Catfish in Thailand, weighed in at 132 Pounds. I am holding the tail, wife in the middle, guide on the right. Fought for about 45 minutes. Used a small dog for bait, ha ha just kiddin ;D

  7. Proud to join such a great site!! The forums here are great and full of excellent information so I thank all of you, and look forward to future postings. A little about me, I work in the IT field and my wife is expecting in late summer, so I will be enjoying the fishing before the baby is here. Usually fishing the tidal Potomac DC waters, and looking forward to some excellent Bass fishing this year. Tight lines!! Rick
  8. Sunday was a beautiful day to get out, so I headed over to Dickerson power plant, warm water discharge. Saw about a dozen people fishing the shore line, and 5 or 6 boats in and out of the area. I did not see anyone hook up. At the tail of the water discharge, I asked on guy on his boat what the temp was and he said it was 47.
  9. Hi guys, first posting here! My favorite top water frog has been a Sizmic high floater, but at the Dulles Expo Outdoor Sportsman show, I found these Spro frogs. What a great frog!! Brought one home and noticed, there is a glow in the dark, round button on the bottom. When I put this frog in the light for a bit and turned off the lights, the whole frog lights up. Does the Spro frog poppers have this glow in the dark feature as well? This model says BronzeyFrog65
