  1. I just sold my "standard" Patriarch and was ready to pull the trigger on a new XT, but it's not available in 7.1 > It looks like the Curado e7 will stick around a little longer.
  2. With the exception of the weekend work I had been doing for the past few months, I haven't really worked in over a year. I went back to school full-time shortly after I lost my job, so I keep my three year old son during the day and go to school. I have turned down several jobs over the past year, mostly due to school and daycare. Unless the job pays very well, it's really not worth taking due to the high cost of daycare and the hassle of rescheduling of my classes. With that said, I get to fish at least once a week, usually more. My tackle purchases have dropped off a bit from two years ago, but that's really not related to the economy or my employment status. I'm just fairly happy with the gear I have...for now.
  3. Breast reduction surgery is often done to alleviate chronic back problems, not for cosmetic reasons. That's why it's covered and stomach stapling is not. Diet and exercise will help people lose weight. As far as I know, there's no exercise that will drastically reduce a woman's breast size.
  4. A simple comma would completely alter the tone of my post, wouldn't it? ;D ;D
  5. You can remove them yourself if you have the right size jack-off.

  7. It's the reason I no longer own Shimano rods. Do you know who has a better warranty..? If I'm going to have it ship it back to the manufacturer, I'll just stick with St. Croix. I can exchange it or upgrade to a different model, whether the rod is broken or not. http://www.stcroixrods.com/category/service_and_warranty Heck, I can get a 12 month over the counter replacement on any BPS brand rod. That doesn't make them any more desirable to me.
  8. It's the reason I no longer own Shimano rods.
  9. There was a rep from Academy on here a while back (over a year ago, I believe) who claimed the same thing. Still hasn't happened.
  10. Most people pedal by pressing down on the pedal with one foot, then the other. Clip and clipless pedals (like the ones above) allow you to pull the pedal up with one foot while you're exerting downward pressure with the other. You can actually maintain constant pressure throughout the crank's revolution which is a more efficient way to pedal.
  11. According to the manager, they were asked by Shimano to "protect their interests" in a meeting earlier this year. At first I thought it was just BS, but after the changes to Loomis' Xpeditor service, I believe he was telling the truth.
  12. Pflueger President 6735XT to replace the Mitchell 308Xe that's on my trunk rod Pflueger Supreme 8035MG (yes, another one) for my new shaky head rig and a spool of 30# Power Pro in Hi-Vis Yellow
  13. Not at all dealers. The Atlanta BPS will only do an over the counter exchange for the first year. After that it has to sent back to Shimano on your dime.
  14. Why limit yourself to a shell? They're a pain to install by yourself, a pain to remove by yourself...and you'll have to take the dang thing off way more than you'd expect. If you expect to be able to actually haul anything in the back of your truck, it'll have to come off. Pick up one of these: http://www.tentsfortrucks.com/ and a decent air mattress. You could be camping comfortably for less than $250. I have the SUV/Minivan tent shown at the bottom of the page.
  15. Shaw Grigsby, Hank Parker, Edwin Evers, and Alton Jones. They just seem like genuinely nice guys who truly enjoy fishing, and would still do it even if they weren't making money at it. As much as I like Ike, I think he'd have me ticked off by lunch. ;D
  16. If you use a floating worm, like Berkley's "Power Shaky Worm", it shouldn't be a problem at all.
  17. Arkie "U-Bolt" I have a few, but haven't tried them yet. I've been using the Gambler "Giggy Head" instead.
  18. I have a Cavitron buzzbait, but have only used it once with no success. It's most likely my fault, though, not the lure's. I live about 15 miles from the Atlanta BPS, so that's where I typically buy my lures and terminal tackle. Once or twice a year I order from TW, or ***, but that's just to replenish my stock of things that BPS doesn't carry. While I'm sure your products are well made, if they're not on the shelf at my local BPS, they'll probably never find their way into my tackle bag. The only scents I've ever used are the Yum ones in the spray bottle, and they didn't seem to make a difference so I stopped using them after a couple trips. I honestly haven't felt the need to try any others.
  19. Excuse? Excuses are for when you've done something wrong. I have reasons.
  20. I use the SDJ on cranks and spinnerbaits, Palomar on everything else. I find it incredibly easy to tie, and quick as well. I do it the same way Alton Jones does the Reverse Clinch Knot in this video, except I pass the tag end back thru the loop at the lure before tying it off.
  21. x2 As much as I like TW, their St. Croix selection isn't all that great.
  22. They're ok, I suppose, but definitely not my favorite brand or best producer. The only Zoom products I use now are the Trick Worm and occasionally a Fluke...and I could probably do without the Fluke. ;D
  23. I maintain a GA freshwater fishing license with trout stamp, but when I travel out of state to fish I just buy a one week non-resident license for whatever state I'm going to. It can typically be bought online in advance, so I'm ready to fish when I arrive.
  24. I believe the "cork" on the Rick Clunn rods is a cork/rubber or cork/foam composite.
  25. I believe that's a project that you'd have to build yourself, per ATF rules. I believe he'd have to be a licensed firearms manufacturer to be able to sell them...but I may be wrong since it's a black powder device. :-/
