Question: Should I Tip Delivery Drivers?
I delivered inflatable bounce houses, water slides, cotton candy/sno-cone/spin-art machines, etc. for birthday parties a couple years ago, and usually received decent tips...especially since we made it a habit to show up with a dozen balloons for the birthday boy/girl. If a bounce house was scheduled from 10am-8pm, the ones that tipped would have their pickup time extended to 9pm, 10pm, or sometimes the next morning, if they were a (good) repeat customer. The ones that stiffed us got to see the big white van roll up 15-20 minutes early.

- St.croix Mojo Bass Spinning Rod? What Are Your Thoughts?
Oh, the irony. And you must be one of those blind-patriot jackasses that assumes a product's quality is determined by its country of origin, not the materials and manufacturing processes. Wake up and look beyond the little "Made in USA" label.- St.croix Mojo Bass Spinning Rod? What Are Your Thoughts?
Wow, what an incredibly stupid response. Why buy a rod in the length/power/action that you prefer when you can "make do" with a similar rod, built on the same blank, with the same components, by the same company, for the same price, but not in the length/power/action you really want? Yup, those Mojo owners are all morons for actually buying what they want.- St.croix Mojo Bass Spinning Rod? What Are Your Thoughts?
Unless something has changed recently, certain length/power/action combinations aren't available in the Premier line, like the 6'8" MXF spinning and casting, and the 6'9" MLXF spinning, not to mention the lack of Premier cranking rods over 7' long. I'm definitely not a Mojo fan, but the Premier isn't all sunshine and rainbows, either. There are definitely lighter, better balanced, and more sensitive options in the $100 range- Lose And Loose
The wife and I were born and raised in NH, but have been in the South since '92. My two oldest boys were born in AL and my youngest son was born here in GA. Even after living in the South for 20 years, the expressions "y'all" and "fixin' to" are just like sagging pants - not allowed in my house.- Lose And Loose
They're, there, and their They're going over there with their belongings. It's and its It's so hot, the zebra is sweating off its stripes. And my personal favorite, improper use of the apostrophe denote plurality Those are Steve's dog's. <--- Should be: Those are Steve's dogs. I'm so picky about grammar and punctuation, that I even text in full sentences with capital letters and proper punctuation.- Bps Carbonlite
Browning rods and reels have nothing to do with the Browning firearm company other than the name and logo. BPS has (or had) exclusive rights to manufacture, market, and sell Browning-branded fishing gear. As such, Browning doesn't actually manufacture a single fishing product. More than likely, their rods and reels are sourced from the same factories as BPS' rods/reels. It's just an easy way for BPS to sell fishing gear to hunters who may only go out fishing a few times year.- Do You Bring A Gun
I find it ironic that some people will invest hours, days, or even years studying bodies of water in an attempt to figure out where the bass are waiting to ambush their prey, but they won't put any effort at all into studying their own surroundings to determine where human predators are likely to be waiting to ambush prey.- Quality American Made Knife
Been carrying a Benchmade 910 Stryker since '03 or '04 with absolutely zero complaints. Sturdy, holds an edge forever, American made, G10 handles, titanium liners, etc. Just an all-around fantastic knife. They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for.- Do You Bring A Gun
Bingo. Criminals are predators, and as such, they'll single out the old, the weak, the sickly, and the distracted to prey on. If you give the impression that you're someone not to be messed with, they'll generally look for easier prey. They don't want to be shot /stabbed/beaten any more than you do.- Wow How Things Do Change
One of my favorites...- Do You Bring A Gun
Two words - situational awareness. Many people unknowingly put themselves in a situation to be robbed, beaten, raped, or worse because they're completely oblivious to what is going on around them. The time to handle the situation is long before the perp's gun is in your face.- Johnny Morris Rods
Lol. Well, I thought it was sexy. Supreme XT on a Carbonlite- Johnny Morris Rods
I have the current Supreme XT on mine, and it's sweet.- Johnny Morris Rods
It's funny you should mention the 6'8" MXF Carbonlite and the Avid AVS68MXF in the same post since I replaced that same model Avid with the 6'8" MXF Carbonlite, and never looked back. It's lighter, cheaper, better balanced, just as sensitive, and (imho) better looking than the comparable Avid. I've owned the 6'6" MH, 6'9" ML, and 6'8" MXF spinning, along with the 7' M & 7' MH (micro) casting models in the Carbonlite lineup, and wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I had the need...even at full price. I also own one of the current Extremes (7' M spinning, two-piece), and find it to be comparable (sensitivity-wise) to the St. Croix Premier, but perhaps a little bit heavier. I'd pass on them at full price, but they're a decent buy when they pop up for $70. I haven't owned any of the current JM-series rods, but I did own some of the previous generation Signature Series and they were great rods. I don't think they were any more sensitive than the Carbonlites, but I feel they were built with better components...like full-cork grips and Fuji titanium-framed SiC guides. Another BPS rod worth checking out is the Browning HiPower. Comparable sensitivity to the Carbonlite, very light, beautiful in the sun, have a nice feel in the hand, and (unlike the Carbonlite) they actually have a foregrip. My 7' M HiPower is the one I grab first when I need a spinning rod.- Who Makes The Pq
- Cellphone/14Yr Old
There are touch screen basic phones with slide-out qwerty keypads that look like smart phones. The teen years are hard enough sometimes without intentionally subjecting your kids to ridicule. My 13 yr old carries an LG Cosmos Touch that's capable of performing many of the same functions as a smart phone, but we have them disabled.- Surprised By A Red Ear Sunfish
I've said it before and I'll say it again - if bream routinely grew to 2.5 - 3#, I'd quite bass fishing completely. They're easier to catch, more aggressive when they strike, and (pound for pound) put up a better fight than most bass.- Yugo 59/66 Sks
According to Tapco, that stock setup counts as three compliance parts, not two.- What Do You Do When Bored
^^^Winner! Every super-successful person I know that can read, reads a lot. You're at a time and place in your life where you have the oppertunity to read all you want. Use that time to soak up a pile of wisdom for the next chapter of your life. Yup. The wife and kids got me a Kindle Touch for Father's Day and I've been wearing it out. Between the $.99 games, free/discounted books from Amazon, and the ebooks I can check out of my local library for free, I don't see myself running out of stuff to do or read for quite a while.- What Is Shimano Going To Do Next?
This post has told me all I need to know about you, LgMouthGambler. Not only were you wrong and insulting to the folks who disagreed with you, but you're not even man enough to admit your mistake? All you can do is toss more insults over your shoulder while you slink off into a corner to hide for a while? Weak. All this time I thought the "LgMouth" portion of your name was a reference to bass, but apparently I was wrong...- What Is Shimano Going To Do Next?
Who cares.- What Do You Collect Or Collected In The Past?
I have a bunch of hot wheels, matchbox, etc., but mine are all Volkswagens. I've always had a thing for aircooled veedubs, so I've had some of these things since I was a little kid (30+ yrs in some cases). I've tapered off quite a bit over the past few years, but I still pick up new ones on occasion. I collected guns for a while, but it dawned on me that I had a ton of cash tied up in guns that I'd never use, so I've sold off all but a handful that either have sentimental value or get used/carried often.- Yugo 59/66 Sks
With the addition of the grenade launcher and night sights, the Yugo SKS isn't the same as the Chinese/Russian models in the eyes of the ATF, from what I've read over the years. There's been a good bit of debate about modifying the 59/66 and ATF regs, since it was only allowed to be imported and sold as a curio/relic. Supposedly any deviation from its original configuration negates its curio/relic status and creates a gun that would not be eligible for importation unless you make it 922® compliant. - St.croix Mojo Bass Spinning Rod?
