  1. Speaking of flurocarbon, how often do you change your line?
  2. The XPS is probably about as abrasion resistent as the others. I use 8lb test on my spinning reels and it works fine. Spray some KVD line or Real Magic on the line regularly and it works even better.
  3. Bass Pro Shops XPS is very good line and goes on sale every year about this time. I have used it for yours and would recommend it.
  4. What are you guys using for your soft plastics and jigs? Thanks.
  5. I voted War Eagle. Great hooks and components. I also like the KVD Stike King spinnerbaits with the trailer hook and head and skirt combinations.
  6. Never used them. I like the Zoom Ole Monster in the 10" and the Berkley Power Worm. Guess I am going to have to try the Strike King Anaconda this summer when the deep structure fishing starts.

Not a huge fan of the Chug Bug anymore. I went to the Rico and have had much more success. I just don't like the price of the Rico's but they are a great topwater bait.
  8. Fished Lake Arbuckle yesterday in Oklahoma which is a pretty clear lake. Only caught four fish but the biggest was 6.5lbs, all on the Spro McStick. Caught them all on the Chrome Shad color. Water temp. was 49-51 degrees. They cast great in the wind and have great hooks.
  9. Net Bait Paca Chunks are just about all I use. I hear good things about the Rage Tail Chunk but they seem way overpriced.
  10. Sweet Beaver. I used to pick up a flippin tube when they wouldn't hit the jig. I never throw a flippin tube anymore since the Sweet Beaver came out. Just a great bait.
  11. I have been a huge Pointer fan over the years. However, I picked up a couple of the new Spro's McStick jerbaits and I love em. They cast like a bullet, have extremely shark Gamakatsu hooks, great paint jobs, and they are $4-$5 cheaper than a Pointer. I really like the shape better than the Pointer. It's more of a minnow tapered look as opposed to the 100 Pointer boxey head. You can't go wrong with either one.
  12. If you haven't tried the new Spro McStick, you should to check it out. It casts like a bullet, has extremely sharp Gamakatsu hooks and great paint jobs. I fished one yesterday for the first time and caught a 6.5lb largemouth on the Chrome Shad color. They are cheaper than the Lucky Craft Pointer and Vision 110. No need to spend $25 on a jerkbait if you are just starting to learn how to fish them. You will likely lose a few. The old standy Rogues are still good but can be tough to cast in windy conditions, but they are only $4-$5. Good luck.
  13. Thanks for the input. I have two coming in the mail from Tackle Warehouse.
  14. Guess not.
  15. Anyone tried these these yet? I have been hearing good reports on them.
  16. I have both and my next purchase will be a Revo. The Revo feels lighter, casts great and the looks are not that big of a deal. I am more interested in how it feels and if it is durable.
  17. Could you please change the picture with you holding those two beautiful smallmouth? Every time I see that I start hyperventilating thinking about hooking those on a jerkbait. Man those are nice smallmouth.
  18. KVD is the way to go. A little higher price than Real Magic but a better product. Stuff works great. Highly recommended!
  19. I have used it for years and really like it. I usually stock up in March when it goes on sale for 30% off. Great buy at that price and a very good fluro line.
  20. Anyone tried these yet? I saw some at Bass Pro and they look great. But $15 bucks for a spinnerbait? I decided the $6 War Eagles work just fine.
  21. I am definitely looking for a spinning rod.
  22. Don't buy the Goby color. The tube has kind of a purple top and green pumkin bottom and looks good. The only problem is the purple top is laminated on the tube and it peels off like a decal after use. I peeled off the others and use them as my green pumpkin color. I like the Mizmo tubes better.
  23. I am looking at buying a new drop shot rod and wondered if you guys had any suggestions. I have numerous G-Loomis rods and was looking at their drop shot rods at Bass Pro. I thought I would check out other suggestions before I get one. Thanks.
  24. Anyone tried one of these? They are 50 bucks more than the Orange colored Carrot Stix and I was wondering if the extra $ is worth it.
