okay i can give a unique perspective....since my local lake is a resevoir for a power plant my lake NEVER drops below 55*.....OUR fish don't look for a magic temp to spawn....I've always been told our bass spawn because of light.....the longer the day the more light....the more light the closer to spring...since they can't look for the temp they look for the light..............dunno about your area....thats just around here...............

I think my technique sucks lol first off I'm bank fishing not sure if I mentioned that in my original post or not...Everytime I throw a shakey head or jig I get hung up on SOMETHING so I'm figuring since I can't get em back into the bank they're not doin me much good not to mention how expensive it's gettin....I lost 3 senko's today...and ALMOST lost a suspending shadrap....that woulda really ticked me off...Lost a few pig n jigs saturday morning it's drivin me INSANE lol

what would the conditions be that would let me know it's a good time to use a topwater lure?

the lake I fish most is REALLY clear...up to 10 ft visibility....What would you guys think would be the best colors/lures?

hey guys thanks ALOT for all the tips on belews....a guy I was talkin to about belews made a good point....belews is so warm year round....so deep...so much traffic on it with skiers and anglers all year...he says that anything you know about fishing....FORGET IT WHEN U GET TO BELEWS LAKE haha VERY good point

ok stupid question here but does it kill the field mouse when the bass hits it? lol do you wait a minute and let it breathe after a cast? this is just so hilarious to me but i bet it does work

I'm a big fan of catchin bass with anything....gotta be more sporting to catch em with LIVE bait I'd think....shoot, I've caught some little ones on worms and bobbers before fine by me lol

WELL GUYS! got a little reprieve today! me and daddy went out on his boat....it's a saltwater skiff BUT it has a nice little depth finder....I found out it aint so much me as it is just that the bait fish are REALLY scattered. He's sayin that since the water stays so warm all the time **it was 67* today** that the water has to get alot warmer before the fish get real active. we caught a couple on and guess where....AROUND 60 FT! some nice old girls were hittin Rat-l-traps out that deep and YOU'RE RIGHT BUDDY! We caught em on gold and black! GUESS I WON'T BE SO QUICK TO JUDGE MYSELF FROM NOW ON lol If anybody's goin around Badin I'd really like to fish that lake on a boat. if ya have an extra seat....NEW FRIENDS lol

well I realize why it's called fishin. techniques is definitely what I was askin for. I've never been in a situation where I was doin alot of bank fishin. thought there might be some things I wasn't factorin in. but thanks, I'll remember that about castin out and reelin in a fish

I spent a little time with jigs. but a 3 bucks a pop they're a little expensive to keep losing lol I am gonna buy some shakey heads I've been fishing points and rocky ledges maybe I need a floating deep running crank????????

OKAY GUYS I'm fishin Belews Lake in NC and havin NO LUCK whatsoever. I've used shadraps....topwater...spinners...worms...lizards...wow! Im really at a loss here guys anybody got any suggestions? by the way I'm bank fishing :-?

I don't have a boat **hint hint** but even if ya just have some suggestions on some good bank fishing that's fine. I do enjoy bank fishing. maybe some suggestions on good areas around Belews lake **I live right on belews lake** or some new lakes that I might not know about that have good bank fishing areas. thanks alot guys Steve

Semi-new fisherman here also new to the board. I'm from NC and have fished on and off my whole life. I'm just now really getting into it though. trying to learn all i can from magazines and the internet AND just by fishing every chance I get.
