  1. Page 39 of the 2008 digest explains what needs to be done for a record fish .
  2. I saw that the other night too. They are putting in down at Mendenhall Ramp outside of Bartonville . I can't believe people are willing to pay to go and shoot them , when all they need is a boat & motor . Walla free bow fishing for flying carps.
  3. I made the mistake to day of checking out one of the bigger lakes I fish . The ice is finally starting to thaw out around the shoreline . God I wish it would hurry up and melt enough for me to fish
  4. There is a group of guys that guide for bowhunters in the summer out of Bartonville , $200 a day and they will let you shoot at all the d**n things you want to . I know of a few local commerical fishermen that catch and sell them like crazy - Supposed to be good eating , but I don't think I'll be trying them anytime soon .
  5. Great Thread - My Great Uncle really got me fishing hard . He used to be in the Mid west Bass Assoc. and fished a lot of tourneys . He gave me my first lure when I was about 8-9 and thats all it took . Also have to give Gramps and Dad a lot of credit too. Dad and I fish together about 12-14 times a year and If I can get Gramps out (stubborn ol SOB) We have a blast . Gramps hasn't really fished much since he lost his leg , but I did get him out for a trip last year . Caught the hell outta crappies and he had a ball . Now if I could just get him to go more often . Now I'm passing the tradition on to my kids and my step-kids . Hope they have as much fun as I do ;D
  6. Popeye - I live in Canton - about 35-40 minutes South of Peoria
  7. Evening all . I stumbled upon this site when I was looking for schematics for some of my reels . Must say it seems like a pretty good site . So I decieded to register . A bit about me . I've been fishing for about 20 years and am a die hard bass fisherman . I haven't been able to get out that much the last couple years due to work and having a part time business , but thats about to change . I fish a lot of local strip mines here in central IL . I guess that about sums it up - Tom
