  3. I can do either or . On the weekdays it's just me (work 2nd shift so no one else is around) On the weekends I like to take my ol'lady and kids with me . Nothing like running back and forth taking big ol gills off the kids hooks .
  4. I woke up to about 6" of the white crap today - So much for that global warming thing - Only good thing about it snowing today , is that I was able to do a little online shopping for some new gear .
  5. Hi Mike - Welcome to the area . I live in Canton . April 1st Double "T" opens up outside of Canton . Good place to fish for bass ,crappie , and bluegill . There is also Fulton County Conservation Area available to fish for a daily fee (about 7-8 miles outside of Canton) I think it's like $5.00 dollars a day . Lakeland park in Canton also has some decent fishing if you can find the fish . Banner Marsh isn't bad , but a boat is pretty much a must there . That pretty much sums up the areas around me that I know of . Also have a few private spots that are good also . Shoot me a pm if ya wanna hook up and go sometime . I've got a small boat and that makes life a little easier . Tom
  6. Made it out sunday for a short trip after it got done raining , Caught 9 fish weighing between 1 -4 lbs . Sure was nice to get out and catch a few . Hopefully I'll be going out again this weekend . Anybody else catching em ?
  7. Anyone been out yet ? I'm getting ready to head down to Banner Marsh here in a bit ( waiting on my cousin to get here) Hopefully we can catch a few fish .
  8. Oh so ready - Ran down to the family farm yesterday to check things out and saw around 20 or so in the bottom food plot . Can't wait for turkey season to get here .
  9. I wire and assemble electric generators for Caterpillar . Good job , pays great , just gets a little boring doing the same thing day in and day out . But I'm not going to complain too much . It could be worse .
  10. I feel your pain , Yesterday was 63 and raining , woke up this morning to a crisp 19 w/ a high of 34 today . Man I need to move south
  11. 4/0 culprit quicker sticker worm hooks .
  12. At work - people that don't keep the top of their tool boxes N.C.O. At home - My house being a complete wreck , (laundry room not included , cause I'm not allowed to do laundry) Fishing with someone that doesn't keep their tackle boxes N.C.O. O.C.D. regards - Tom
  13. Oh it's warm here during June and July . As far as where to go , that would depend on what part of the state your coming to .
  14. Thanks for the link to tinboats . I was gonna start on the back deck today , but seeing as it is a cool brisk 19 w/ wind chill of 7 , I believe I'm gonna sit in the house and think about starting on my deck . The whole reason I bought this boat was so I could fish the local strip mines that others are able to access . Without the motor , the boat is light enough for 2 people to carry . Giving me much more access to where the big ones hide . Always a back seat open during fishing season regards - Tom
  15. Okay some of you may remember my post about my boat being stolen . Well finally after months of searching and looking for a boat . I finally bought one . It's a new 12 ft Tracker w/a 6 hp motor . Now it's time to start extending the front and back decks . Come on warm weather ;D ;D . Will post some pics when it warms up enough to go out and take some .
  16. Oh this is an easy one . My Great-Uncle Don (R.I.P) used to fish the mid-west bass assoc. tourneys . One weekend he came down and asked if I would like to go fishing with him , and I said sure . He proceded to teach me how to flip a rubber worm and I caught about a 2 1/2 - 3 lbs bass . Well after that it was hook , line , and sinker . I could tell more stories about him and taking me fishing , but that is what really started it all for me . Tom
  17. I tried that method , but it didn't do a dern bit of good . Kinda sucks when you have a hook buried in the bone . Come to think about it that d**n fish cost me $500.00 for the E.R. visit
  18. The bite is on !!!!!!!!! Muskies are starting to hit at Spring Lake . Can't wait for this weekend , Going to be nice to get back on the water .
  19. Gary - I feel your pain - only I don't have sewage backed up in my basement err crawl space . either way the sump is running , pumping the water where it belongs OUTSIDE
  20. Oh she's a keeper alright . puts up with my fishing , dog training , hunting habits . What else could I ask for . Now if I could just get her to learn how to use a spinning reel or baitcaster and lures, all would be good ( that woman is stuck on the ol' 33 and live bait )
  21. So I just got home from work , and sitting on the kitchen table is a new Falcon fishing rod , with the following note - Happy Valentines Day I love you , but IF you go fishing as much this year w/out me . I'll break this S.O.B. into so many pieces you'll be crying Love C Ain't she a great woman or what regards - Tom
  22. That's pretty cool
  23. Went down to the family farm today and GUESS what I saw -- OPEN WATER . Granted it was only a few feet around the shore , but that means sping is coming and real fishing is soon to start .
